Volkert,

Good to hear that you are all moved in and have your work area set up. Looks good to me! Hope that you had a nice Christmas and keep us informed of your progress with your FG AJ build.

Tony,

Hope that your Christmas was Merry! I had a feeling about the elevator "Stiffy" and you confirmed it. Now, for sure, I plan to follow your lead and go with the single elevator servo exactly where it is suggested in the instructions. I have been pleased with the pull/pull rudder system, but it is tempting to consider your mention of putting a single servo back in the fuselage, on the other side of the elevator servo, to control the rudder. It would take a little tail wheel mod, but what the heck. Hey, the Katana MD wing tube is an excellent substitution for the supplied one. It is strong and tough, to say the least. Again, another "Taildragger726" upgrade modification that works. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh...........Yeahhhhhhhhh!!!!

Pappajeff, Christmas was great here. Our nine year old was a joy to watch!

I can not take credit for the Katana wing tube mod,,, I am just relaying the info.

I let a couple guys fly my 4 cell AJX last week. One is a very capable war bird driver. The other was so so on the experience level. They both loved the airplane and did well with it, including landings.

Hey check out Flitons new FG AJ 330S video !

Very cool (if i do say so myself)

http://www.fliton.com/new_english/movie/Fliton_Flight_School_hi.wmv

HR

Well, it looks as if the FJ version of the Fliton AJ Extra 300S has influenced the new AJ video. So now the new video of the FG AJ Extra
is titled; "BUNS OF STEEL"
I thought that we were supposed to concentrate on the flying characteristics of the AJ, right?????

PappaJeff, what flying characteristics......?????

With a 3s1p pack on the A30-10XL I bet you would happier with a 14X7 APC-E
The 13X6.5 is better suited to 4s1p operations. Any way,, tell us how it goes!

Happy new year to all you guys as well!!!!

Yesterday we flew the AJ for the first time. First impression: impressive little airplane! Second impression: let's try the 14x7 prop!

Volkert,

I think that you are right about going to 4S packs and 14X7 prop with a BEC and that is what I am in the process
of doing now. For the past few months, I have been involved with a remodeling job for a friend and now that it
is over................I'm, BACK to some serious AJ modifications.

Not so much with the basic design of the AJ, since "JETSKI" did an excellent job of designing this special plane
that bears his name. I have decided to change some little things and modify some other things that have caused me
some concern as I did my basic test flights many months ago. This is just a case of an "OLD DINOSAUR" Grandpa
getting carried away with a few little changes that will make him more comfortable flying this great little plane.
So there! In the next few weeks I'll get the upgrades sorted out and get them posted.

Stick with a 13X6.5 on a 4S. 14X7 will be too much. IMHO.

PappaJeff, if I understood it correctly it would be a 14x7 on a 3S pack, and 13x6.5 for a 4S pack. Anyway, we will both give a try....
