My plane is gonna build about 56oz. I called fliton and they said that is a little heavy. He said that my twin 3 cell 2200mah thunder power batteries is the reason for the weight. But I did some figures and the wing loading will be 17oz per square foot. The wing loading would have been 15oz per square foot at 50oz. I think the difference is minimal.

Paul,

The wing loading difference seems to be minimal, as you state. Please let us know what the results of your
flights are.

standard Fliton setup, so

This Ultra Combo pack includes everything that you will need to get this airplane in the air (quickly) and cost effectively. Also comes with a 4S (14.8v) 25C (continuous) Lipo 2150mAh battery. For all out wild 3D and instantaneous recovery, this is the setup you want.

INCLUDES:

FG AJ Extra 330s ARF

Hacker A30:10XL

Hacker X55 SB Pro Brushless ESC

(3) Hitec HS-81 + (1) Hitec HS-81MG Rudder Servos

(1) Fliton 4S 2150mAh Lipo Battery

(1) APC 13x6.5E Propeller

Dubro 1 3/4" Nylon Spinner (White)

Deans Connectors

24" Servo Wire Extension

For best IMAC performance, select Hitec HS-65HB servos from the above pulldown menu as replacements to the HS-81/81MG servos.

And yes, I selected the HS-65HB, only took a 81MG for the rudder servo.

Volkert,

Thanks for the set-up info on your AJ Extra. Our weather has been so bad for the past few months that I
can't wait for a few good days to get some video & stills of my AJ. Winter......no fun!

I hear you on the winter part. I think in your parts it will be a bit worse then here, but I have seen enough of rainy windy days with low temperatures. Brrrrrr. really jealous about these guys a bit more south!!!!

It just got over 30 this last week here. This has been the coldest winter we have had in a while. I'm kind putting of the AJ to get my 30% yak ready because its warming up fast now.

anybody tried the Eflite pro ESC's? They are supposed to be rated for full BEC from 3s to 6s lipo batteries... I'm planning to run mine with a 4s 2500 Flightpower EvoLite, Eflite Pro 40 amp
ESC. Need to check the wattmeter though and make sure on the amps. The specs from Horizon say the motor pulls 32amps or so. After reading about people using the 32 I'm starting to wonder if the Power25 will be enough...

Ryan M,

I have not tried the E-Flight pro ESC's yet, but I hear that they have been well received. With the Hacker
A30-10XL motor and X-55 Pro ESC, I have not had any power problems. I do think that you might be better
off with the Power 32 as it never hurts to have a little extra power in reserve, right?????? Also, don't forget
the rest of the power equation is the battery and I really have been extremely pleased with the Flight Power
packs.

Anyone want to share their landing gear mods? I just broke a second set today on what was not that bad of a landing. Little bumpy runway I guess did it.

I am currently helping a buddy build one of these... Overall the quality if pretty low and dissappointing... it got even better when trying to install the aileron servos last night and one wing had the servo hole and supports on the wrong side of the rib.

He is going to try dealing with the LHS first for replacements.. then Fliton, I have heard bad things about product support from Fliton direct.. anyone have any experiences good or bad there?

I think this kit is top notch, Taking into mind what it''s designed for, Hell hard! extrema 3d i think AJ and Fliton did great job! man this bird floats. never the less sorry to here about you landing gear, seams like Fliton has to buck up a little the same thing happened to my Inspire 60 after it''s 3rd flight, had to splice in a peace of hard ply on the fuselage, it held up until i kissed the dirt, did not think twice to order another Fliton (AJ 330 FG), once this product is in the sky it all smiles,

cool thanks for the feedback... I hope he will get new wings without problems. You hear the name a lot and I mainly fly GS so I was a bit shoked when I saw these issues.

WIll see what happens.
