I have a DA 100 and KS 86 rear exuast cans with 70mm drop flew headers. I am interested in this plane, but am kind of stuck with the listed engine\exuast setup. I am capable of making and fitting new cannister mounts. My question is is it possible to use the both the rear exuast and the 70mm drop over the suggested front exit and 50mm drop at all? If anyone has any idea please reply. Thank you.

Vinny,

According to the manual

http://www.somenzini.com/downloads/manuals/102gen2assembly.pdf

• DA100 or similar engine
• MTW 75 Canisters with 50mm drop down header or Stock Mufflers or similar
set up for different engine

So it looks like the headers may be an issue

You could always cut the headers and give QQ a call to see if the rear exit can will work

Yeah, I was just wondering if I need to cut the headers or if there is enough room for the extra 20mm down..

It would be cool to have me with the 86 inch version and you with the 102 inch version.

Hopefully someone can help you better with the header question. I suspect that since it's 20mm difference we are talking something like 3/4th of an inch (give or take) and even with the flex headers you have I do not think you could get them in there without some cutting somewhere. We even had one available this weekend. You could always go over to FG and look through slowhucks Butcherfest pics and see if you can find out who it was that had one and get in touch with that person as well.

QQ answered all my questions when I called without hesitation and was pretty cool to talk to as well

My exaust system is now up for sale on RCU classifieds. For such a nice plane, I want it to be right.
