John - I've seen 240W pushed through a folding prop - seemed to handle it fine.

Bloody hell I did it again

You will just have to believe me when I say I had an informative and witty post here a minute ago.......but I was foolishly forgetting the forum is broken

........can't be bothered typing it again.

I think I should make myself a rule not to come here in the morning while my brain's in neutral....the subsequent blood pressure rise can't be good for you ........ and even the cat senses it's time to leave when the post fails

It is a fetish of mine that if you own something it should be working correctly or get rid of it.....fix it or **** it off is something my kids usually hear followed closely by a clip under the ear!!

...best I go fly my plane before I'm tempted to tell these forum operators what a half arsed outfit they have!

Machette - it might vary from browser to browser but when it happens to me I hit the back button where the text I typed in is preserved, and then high light and copy it.

Looking back at my previous post I realise that it would be a waste of time writing to the forum operators/mods.......I'm thinking that by the time the censor finished with my 'letter to the editor' it would look like swiss cheese
How the hell can you express yourself here with half our aussie language disallowed

It was doing that but seems to be loosing it now.
I had a day of establishing it wasn't me.....changed software, changed to Mozilla, changed to another computer (and changed to Mozilla there)....loaded Umburto (or whatever it's called ) that failed too.
Went to my daughters and dialed up and even changed browsers there. (others on this forum offered advise also)
......ended up pretty sure it wasn't me!!!.....then when I said as much other mentioned it happened to them......so I resolved myself to 'not me!'

.....have to wonder if it's a ploy to get rid of us......also have to wonder how many people "didn't know" and gave up the thread and left!

I'm just grumpy maybe....but I hate **** that I can't fix, and I hate it more if it affects me and the person who owns it can't be bothered.....I always, but always, just **** it off!

......I gave up using jumper leads Oz ......I just walk away until it's fixed properly .......I'm seriously over half arsed outfits......it's just a reflection on yourself

Hey All,

I ordered a folding prop and a couple of new motors.... I hope that will solve it. I have straightened the shaft again and looking at the day will get a chance to send her skyward again... Let's hope the landing is a better one.

ALSO... someone mentioned that the DX radio would not fit in those cheap $25 hard cases from Bunnings... well here is my DX7 in the same case that I had my JR in. So whoever it was.... yes they fit. Grab some foam from Clarke Rubber and away you go!!

Cheers
-J

On a philosophical point Machette I don't hold out much hope - economic forces tend to drive a higher number of features rather than higher reliability... I'd like to know why it seems hard to get a mobile phone as good as my previous one [as good as my previous one]..., they seem to become less reliable with each new model, but they have a zillion more features that I will never use

John - on the offer to host elsewhere this has been discussed a few times before on the forum. The conclusion to each of the previous discussions was that despite the issues where we were seemed best at the time. There are at least 5 regular contributors here (including you and I) who could set up alternate arrangements for the thread, so I guess it's not for lack of capability..., rather just we are unsure - we have such a great thing here at the BBQ (really - if you have read the Australia region thread over at RCGroups it is so completely different) that we are all a bit nervous about tinkering too much..., on the other hand we don't want to be the liberals either - so sure we are on a good thing that we don't realise the world is changing around us...

Cheers,
Oz.

Ozrcboy,

You got that 'features before quality' thing right

As several of you know, I'm fairly active on the "other" popular forum group as well, personally I go where the people are, as apposed to choosing based purely on the software used. That said, the RCU software really does have some issues lately *grr*.

No real point trying to start up your own forums because that's pretty much a dead-end unless you've got a lot of time and energy to push it HARD until you get a self-sustaining number of people (in the thousands would be just starting to get somewhere).

Paul.
(no flying today, just enjoying the lovely rain)
