Flightofnavigator,
I think we are in the same boat. I'm ready to do some more stuff with my CX2 than torment the dog and tick off my wife. Something about hovering over the baby doesnt' sit well with her!

I'm curious though the bphobbies website has parts for the Dynam Vortex Coaxial Heli, are they interchangable with the CX2? I was thinking of doing the flybar, shafts and heat sinks. Do you happen to have specific part numbers of what you ordered? The CX2 mod guide was really helpfull but I want to make sure that the parts are interchangable before I order.

I was looking at the CP as well, if I can hold out a little longer with the CX that would be great. I'd also like to be able to fly the CX outside a little more often.

I did read on here that I should not buy from the guy in canada but my question was. Where do I get the things the guy in canada sells at a cheaper price. I want to reduce the blade strikes, change to the tailboom that allows for higher speeds. I have read some other mods but i dont want my heli to be mod/stock. I do a lot of reading on here and someone (ArrowNaughtic ) posted that those parts can be bought for less than half the price he wants. I wanted to know where to get those? Not to start an arguement but you didn't read what i posted. I said the guy in canada his prices were to steep for me where else could i get those cheaper. Thanx in advance for your responses.

the upgrade list for CX2 heli's. Now I've tried all the products from Dynam Vortex and there good except the motors# VTX-018 these did not work. They produced little power and did not respond to my inputs. Use stock motors just keep them cool with a heat sink from E-Flight. Now the shafts both inner and outter and short flybar are fine. They do require some modification, the upper blade mounting post are too short and need trimming. I did this using a razor blade keep trimming until they engage properly and most importantly move freely. Next mod is the flybar, the upper link fits great this is the bar it's made for, but the lower doesn't fit it's too small use your factory lower link and if needed remove the threaded part that joins the 2 using a pair of needle nose pliers just don't damage the threads. These mods will help prevent blade strike when doing stuff you should'nt do with this heli. For your last question bphobbys.com seems to be the cheapest. I spent just over $25, but without the crappy motors it will be much less. Part #'s VTX-003 inner shaft, VTX-004 outer shaft, VTX-002 short flybar. If you don't want to modify their upper shaft to fit stock blades by there blade grips and blades. I spent time modifying simply because stock blades are available localy. another good mod site is boomtownhobbys.com not sure if I spelt that right check Arrownaugtics post he has a link. Hope this helps you, so far there is 2 pages about this topic going and some people have some good advice and links attached check through all the post and shop around for the best bargain.

fliteofthenavigator,I also started out with the cx2 and quickly stared to want more heli.I bought the cpp against the advise from the lhs.Its been about 6 mo. and I still cxant get a good hoover out of it.Everytime I try to fly it ,it cost me 15.00 or so in broken parts, and hours of fix time.I am not blaming the heli for this because its me not knowing what I am doing and maybe that type of heli isnt for me.But if you instist on a ccp I will sell you mine at a good price.I just got done fixing it for the last time, and put it back in the bow that it came with

I was getting upwards of 9 minutes to 11 minutes on a fresh battery and new motors, motors are getting worn out and I will be replacing them within the next couple weeks. Right now I am getting 2 mins of hovor and adjustment then a full 5 mins of hard FFF.

Thanx ArrowNaughtic. Is that flybar, inner shaft, and outshaft and gear the longer one to keep the blades from hitting during flight? Thats the most important thing i would like to change now. Because i noticed on the guy in canada's website that he had different blades that folded in like on the larger helis and the flybar looks like the same one except it has dual linkages on it. Thanx again

rsking, keep the stock TX with the CX2, it really has limitations and IMHO is just fine stock with the minimal mods like the longer shfts, flybar mod and boom mod. You would still have to hack into your 4 in 1 on the cx2 to get the ar6000 to work with it. The TREX will be happily waiting for you and I see some clones out there that really are quite nice and most parts interchange with the Align parts.
sloshed...............yes, those are the inner and outer shaft that I am using. I had a aluminum inner shaft so was able to take the top rotor head off the stock Eflite shaft and put it on the Vortex shaft. Removing the head off the vortex took some acetone and heat to get it off as its glued on. You will find that the Vortex's inner and outer shaft are close to the same length as the stock EFlite ones, but the spacing between upper and lower heads is farther apart which pretty much eliminates blade clack.

There's another new one from me. Thanx ArrowNaughtic, never thought about using my aluminum head on the dynam upper shaft that's easier and more precise than breakin out old henry and widdlen the blade post. With the way things are in the aftermarket we should make our own parts and sell em. We'll make millions$$$ P.S. Let me know how those motors work out. And on another note, apparently I'm wrong and brushed motor break-in is necessary. But still from what I saw, a break-in would not of helped those dynam motors. Also if the motors are sealed can type your limited on break-ins because you can not submerge them. Experience is a hard teacher, first it gives the test and than the lesson.
