Howdy folks, new to this site. as green as they could be. "In the RC world" anyways. Bought a toy, you know the reflex and said others at local chain store ie Walmart. Anyways I liked it and a friend of mine talked me into buying something more serious. So I bought a E-Flight Blade cx2 I invested over $250 out the door. And have seem to outgrow it within a couple of weeks. I talked to my dealer and he asked if I could fly backwards? I said yes. In control making turns? I said yes . I even fly outdoors which wind is bad, but I've learned to use it to my advantage. He suggested a blade CP Pro. But what's your opinion on the next step? I like my CX2 but the stuff I try to do to this heli can't handle it do to blade strike, underpower, etc. The reason I ask is there is a website called bladecx2.com with amazing videos that show there product beating under power with there new moters and beating blade strike with ther upgrades. Anyways if there hop ups do work should I keep my cx2 for indoors or buy something again more serious?

If you seem to have outgrown your CX2 in a few weeks, all the hop ups in the world are not going to make it fly better enough to renew your interest. In my opinion you would be wasting your money. Go with the CP Pro, however be forewarned, flying a CP is very, very, different than flying your CX2.

I will state again............ that website you mentioned is a guy from canada fleecing unsuspecting new CX and CX2 owners. All the parts can be bought for less than half the price he wants and the modifications can easily be handled by anyone who can read or post questions. Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Please do not give away your hard earned money to scum who try to tell you they have superior parts. He buys all the same stuff we do and repackages them and sells them at a highly inflated price.
Sorry JP44 but I have to disagree with your reply....... not totally, I do agree that navigator is ready to move up to a more involved heli, but he can also do some mods to the CX2 that would improve its flight abilitys and reduce and eliminate some of the flaws that cause its limitations. There is a wealth of info on these lil coaxials and I enjoy flying mine with some of the modifications just as much as i do my TREX or 2 Blade CP's
Another site to get some great info on is http://www.heli-max.net/mediawiki/index.php/Overall_CX_and_CX2_Setup

fliteofthenavigator,
If you are going to be serious in this hobby and if you are going to continue with helis, then I suggest you do move on to a more serious heli.
Don't get the Blade CP though. The reason why is because it has a tail motor and tail motors have too many problems. They don't have enough power, they don't keep the helicopter stable, and they burn out very quickly.
I suggest you get a Trex 450 if your budget is high and if your willing to spend over $600. If not, then I suggest you get the Falcon 3D or the Honey Bee King 2.
The Falcon 3D has a shaft driven tail and a heading hold gyro (which makes the helicopter much more stable). It also has a Brushless motor and ESC and a Lipo battery.
The Honey Bee King 2 has a belt-driven tail, but it doesn't have a heading hold gyro. It has a Brushed motor and ESC and not Brushless, but it does have a Lipo battery.
Anyways, the Honey Bee King 2 costs $150 here at JagHobbies: http://www.jaghobbies.com/rc_planes/ek1h-e016a.htm
The Falcon 3D costs $280 at Hobby Lobby: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/falcon.htm
I have the Falcon 3D and it's a great heli. I think you should go with the Falcon 3D, but it's your choice.
I hope this helps

fliteofthenavigator,

The Honey Bee King 2 has a belt-driven tail, but it doesn't have a heading hold gyro.

Correction:
The Honey Bee King 2 does come with a gyro.

Hey everybody, thanks for all the info. Arrownaughtic that upgrade page is awsome now it looks like it's cost efficient to upgrade my CX2. Thanks for saving the greenbacks from the other guy in canada. Just a few more questions, the parts from Dynam Vortex are they compatible with E-Flite bearings, swashplate etc. ? Do I need it all or just the shafts, motors and flybar? Also I still plan on buying a more serious heli and have heard good things about the honey bee and cp pro is there anyone heli that is good for beginers but still fully capable of aerobatics?

I thought the HBK2 just came with a rate gyro? I don't think it comes built in with a HH gyro for 150.... does it?

Correct the King2 comes with a rate gyro, however a lot of people mistake it for a HH Gyro. Probably because the gryo is not built into the other electronics and it mounts on the back just like the Eflight HH gryo. So at first glance it might appear to be a HH gryo.

I have a King2 and a CP Pro. The King2 is a much better heli for the money. One thing I like about the CP Pro is flight times are much better because it is a smaller heli and a whole lot lighter. Besides that the King2 has my vote for the $200 range RTF's

No, I jumped the gun, I thought he meant a gyro in general. I read his post too fast, sorry for the confusion.

DrunkYoda, I lost a weight on my flybar and had to replace it so I removed the linkage off the old one and saved the remaing weights incase this happens again but anyways I put the old linkage on the new flybar and this improved my blade tracking over using just one it also seem to help the stabilty abit. I wouldn't run out and by another flybar just for the linkage. Wait till it needs one, or check ArrowNautic's post above to get the upgrade short bar with 2 linkages already installed. And many other affordable good upgrades.

Hi Madspec,

Where did you get the mods? Was it expensive?

Thanks,
Geoff

Sure you can do the upgrades, but it is still a CX2, with only limited improvement. Why upgrade a Hyundi to look like a Lexus when it still drives like a Hyundi, and you really want a Lexus.
