Does any company make lights for rc cars. What is the company if there is any? Also are they just for cars or can you put them on off road trucks, and how do they work, as in how are they hooked up?

thanks

these are lights, all lights do is add weight, unless your a racer, then it wont matter. So if your a basher and you got some money laying around, go for it.

What point is there to having lights on your rc car? They just add weight. Do they even work that well at night?

DUDES my friend has this light setup he ordered installed in his rs4 3 ss w/the hpi camaro ss booty. it looks sick and he can now drive it at night, he can easily see what direction he's going. only bad thing, the bulbs are fragile. a tiny pebble will break'em.

Dude, a better question is;
What is the point of putting a wing spoiler on your real car?

Does it go so fast you need it? (LOL) Or did you just want it?

Quoted from Import Tuner

"The automotive engineers who designed your car have a specific operating rage they target in order to balance looks, saftey, price, and feasibility in an operating range that maxes out at about 80 MPH."

What this tells me is that, if your car can hit, 80 MPH, then a wing isn't that bad of an idea.

Dont even try to tell me that all wings are put on there to help reduce lift.

Did you know that a 1996 Ford Mustang's Wing actually created a good bit more drag than a Porsche's whalefin spoiler?!

Most decklid spoilers do just that. Spoil all the fun and just introduce drag.
Those huge ugly handle-looking spoilers people put on their cars (mounted with 4 screws if I may add) are nothing more than cheap cosmetic crap.

The list goes on. Nowadays even stock cars come with aeodynamic nightmares like the side scoops in the corevettees and mustangs. They do NOTHING!

Hmm I'm gettin a little intense here lol!

Oh well you get the idea. The lights just look cool as hell.

Nothin like a Civic Si blazin down the interstate at 85Mph with neons under and brite white lights in front

I'm not the one telling anyone, I'm just quoting someone who might know more than us about this stuff.

wings do absolutely nothing unless you are going incredibly fast, and like buggy is saying those huge ones only create more drag. If you want to see a wing that actually is affective, it isnt going to be pretty (aka nascar) look at the new beetle turbo's, there wings are hidious but they actually do what they are supposed to.

Really. I believe that its all a nice load of Bull. I think they do it so they can add another cheap $35 option to the list and charge people $800 for it.

You wouldnt belive how little they care about the performance of these cars. Heck Audi was forced to recall and install free spoilers on their cars. You think they didnt know that the car produced lift and that it was unsafe at high speeds?

I just wish the car manufarturors would come out clean with their options and not LIE about their products to us.

Take this for example. I went to the local "leading" car dealership (honda). NONE of the guys in there know what the HX civic was. One knew that it was a "special" transmission. Turns out it was a CVT!
Thats when I lost it for these guys. They have no idea what theyre selling. And all the sales brochures just lie plain as day. Ford is now flaunting their individual rear suspension on their obese cars lineup. How old is that? They should have done this like 5 years ago!
And they talk about performance.. Bah!

Anyway.. back to lights. Your correct it is unnecessary extra weight. But can you beat the look of 6 lights making a 1 foor car look that real?!!

Btw you can protect the bulbs in many ways. With the saleen S7R body (200mm) you can actually use the outside lexan as a shield and plug the lights onto the little light thing probvided. That should do it! And it will have that cool 3D look as well!

The only reason I'm talking is because I've seen a car with real lights and it was soo cool I bought me a set. Now that I sold that to get my buggy I have o use for it lol. I wonder if it'd look good on a buggy lol!

hehe, if you want real spoilers, look at the dirt sprint cars, those things work! they are there to dig in the tires, and they do so very well, they get the tires inches into the ground while at speed!

In real cars, spoilers are useless, imean u see these "hotted" up Hyundai EXCELS. most of those excels cant even go fast enough for them to work

hehe anyhow, spoilers are useful, for my little touring car, it will help a little not much, not like the 1.5 tonnes of downforce a f1 car produces
