The instructuons show mounting the tank in the wing. DON'T! Mount it on the side of the fuse opposite the engine. The first hard landing will throw the tank through the sheeting on the wing and its a pain to fix. Mounting the tank on the outside gives you a visual on the amount of fuel left so you don't run out while hovering. I drill a hole through each engine rail and attach the tank with a nylon tie strap, putting a piece of quarter inch foam behind the tank. A simple procedure.

I agree the tank looks better inside the wing, but it if ever leaks fuel will be inside your wing. Yuk! Its hard to fuel proof the inside of the wing. If its on the outside you can visually see how much fuel is left by landing or just flying by close. I go to the Home depot and get the eyelet screws, and straiten them out enough to get a rubberband in the hook part. I then screw these into hardwood or plywood on the side of the fuse around the fuel tank. Then, it's just a matter of a little foam for padding and about three rubberbands to hold it on. But to each his own!

Afer looking at your Knife again, I bet the BalsaNova was designed after the Knife. They lenghten the fuse to give it a smooth pattern plane fight envilope and gave it a tapered wing just to spice it up .

What do ya think?

I balance mine with half a tank of fuel. Just move battery and receiver around to get balance , You can also add a little weight to the tail to make it tail heavy. Then if it gets windy just remove the weight to make it a little more stable.

This is the way i do it. I'm sure there are other way to do it.
Maybe even better ways.

Hope this helps. Don
