How does it fly? I would characterize it as "very responsive". This baby is slick! The Hacker motor has so much power it is scary! It really flies GREAT! I think the canopy is what the Shogun wears, but I am not sure. You would have to ask Rusty. It taught me that my other HBK has a "fat tail syndrome" as well. I was beginning to think the HBKV2 just had a slow to respond rudder.. WRONG!! If the tail feathering shaft is slicked up and the yoke is also slicked up, the tail is VERY responsive! Kudo's again to Rusty!

HI guys im looking into getting a hbk2 and moving up from the esky lama 3lol. My question is do you think it would be worth buying a modded heli like a Rusty built one so it doesnt have all the stock bugs or should I just stay stock. I guess all the motor ,esc and belt problems ive been reading about got me a little nervous.

You would be better off getting a stock HBKII RTF from Rusty with the brushless and ESC pre-installed by him. Have him fix all the known issues (belt, getting rid of the stock motor, fixing the fat shaft syndrome), and have it "test flown". I garantee a very nice stock HBKII if you do it that way...tell 'em crash sent you.

I agree with Crash on getting one from Rusty with a brushless setup installed and the belt mods installed. I never had trouble with my belts at all, but my first brushed motor became much less powerful pretty quickly and the second brushed motor ate out the rear bearing ( most likely bushing) in the top of the can and ate the main gear along with it, when it spun in something less than a concentric circle.. The HBKV2 is a pretty tough bird. It is also pretty well designed. (nothing is perfect)... Instead of telling him Crash sent you, tell him Tom sent you! lol

I like the modified heli a bunch. With the graphite tail boom and the slightly heavier canopy ( I should weigh the new canopy and see just how much more it weighs.) the CG comes out right on the money. The Castle Creations Phoenix 25A ESC is small and light weight. I bought a couple of cheapie 30A ESC's off of Ebay. I am flying one in another HBK. The cheapie ESC's are about twice the size of the Phoenix ESC and probably weigh twice what the Phoenix weighs. Right now, I am running an Esky 3900 brushless in the other HBK where Rusty put a Hacker 3700 in the one he built for me. You can't judge a motor simply by the numbers, apparently. Don't get me wrong, the Esky 3900 has a lot more power than the stock motor, but the Hacker, to me at least, seems to have more power than the Esky. If I recall correctly, in Rusty's testing, the Esky 3800 seems to have more power than the Esky3900. Go figure. I am using a stock transmitter for now. I have receiver crystals on the way for my Futaba 6EXH ( PCM/PPM). When they arrive, I will program in the new heli. I am testing/learning the Futaba's capabilities, since I just got it on Ebay (transmi
