how do you like the dx6i?? is it hard to setup?? is it far better than the stock radio?? i am thinking of picking one up tomorrow for my trx build, and i could get an extra rx for my hbk2.. is it easier to dial in the gyro??

ANYTHING is better than the stock radio and YES it's easier to switch between HH/Rate, and you can control the gain on some of them.

Personally, I couldn't tell you. They may have corrected the CCPM problem in the programing of the DX6 in the DX6i, and made some advancements like a 5pt curve instead of 3pt curves. Never had a 6i in my hand, so I couldn't really say. I didn't really have a problem with the DX6, I liked it.....especially the short antennas and NO possible chance of glitching. I'm running the Eclipse 7 with spectra module now. It has the standard antenna BUT it's a radio that can be used for full sized R/C planes and heli's (.40 to .60 nitro and up). So far...I like it better than the DX6 I was using because it has more programming features and 5pt curves with end point adjustment in the programming...it's more than a parkflier radio.

Morning everyone.I have been getting to know my new futaba 7c fasst. In a word....AWESOME.I have to wait till next month to buy yet more parts for the king II to get her flying, but the programing the swash etc is wayyy cool. It's actually easier to get the hang of it then I was a thinkin'.

Chief...I got a scale build project for a guy comming up, he's sending a DX7 with it. I'm thinking they're basically all the same when it comes to programming with the exception of little differences and settings for that particular helicopter, I'm not scared (LOL).

Been having bad tail probs with my 222 for a while but I just figured it out last night. Per the TX manual, gyro rate was set at 80%. When I realized 80%, I bumped it up to 100%, prob gone. Tail holds great and it actually now flies better than the Huey ever did. I've almost stuffed the 222 so many times because of the gyro problems....I lost track how many times. It wouldn't even fly in a slight breeze without being all over the place. After I made the adjust, I flew it in 10mph+ gusty winds with no problem (other than the normal ballooning associated with wind gusts). Hoping the wind will taper off later so I can put it through it's paces.

Hey Vic,I'm not sure about the dx7,but there is tons of setup info in most of the forums, and on youtube for the dx7.I'm just kinda pluggin' along with the manual, and seeing what it does to the ship.I'm actually enjoying this,(yup,I'm dain bramaged).Glad you got the tail problem solved,,,,,knew you would. Are you using the esky HH on that? What kinda scale build do you have coming up? What mechanics are you going to use for it? Did ya get an EXI 450 yet?

Yeah...I souldn't have much problems with the DX7. Kind'a on a roll today...I stuffed BOTH heli's The AirWolf fuse is history. I had MORE tail problems and lost it (couldn't spin it fast enough to save it). The PET material shattered like glass, I wouldn't attempt to save it...it was that bad. The AirWolf was MX-400 #1 with 120deg CCPM/ Esky HHG. MX-400....got squirrely and motor probs developed...crash!!! Both heli's.....minor damage. I'll take both and make one good one....I still be fly'in.

Oh man,,,,that sux bigtime. The pet material,is that the clear stuff ? This crashin' stuff do get old,(and expensive).Saturday I was programming in the swash on the king (with the stock servos) when the aileron servo just locked up and wouldn't do anything. As I was gonna replace the 3 stock servos left,I put in one of my hs55's (I only have two right now) And it worked fine(and still does). So I continue on with the programing gig then the pitch servo starts acting like a total spaz, all by its self.I just sat there and watched this thing have a fit, then lock up...........dead.I was right away wondering about the rx being weird on me,but it was just the esky servos doing their normal croaking thing. So now,I have just one stock servo on the bird, elevator.I'll pick up another 55 to put on,and that should take care of bidness for awhile.......I hope.THEN.............While I was just turning the drive gear to see that the tail was good to go,I noticed a "lump"in the tailrotor shaft.Well, the pully actually,so there I went. The pully was concentric, like a cam lobe.I pulled it all apart and the shaft is as staright as an arrow, yet the damn pully is offset.I pulled out my trusty pinion puller and yanked off the tailrotor drive pully and sure enough, the outside of the pully is great,BUT the inside was drilled crooked/offset/oblong and wrong
So,there is yet another dely, but the good news is,I have finally found the high freq vibration that has eluded me for too long.I will replace the shaft/pully with the copterx unit.3 shafts with one press on metal pully for less then 7 bux.Just love this esky stuff.

Yeah Chief...the PET is the clear stuff, shatters like glass. I never crashed the Huey, so I never had the experience. The good thing is, between BOTH of those heli's, I've got enough stuff to build a brand new bird from the ground up using good stuff off both plus what's in the parts bin. Looks like the EXI450 may be comming sooner than I thought (LOL). Once I fry the MX-400's.....I'm moving on to bigger/better stuff. Really thinking about ANOTHER Huey...that thing was too sweet (compared to the AirWolf).

I too am looking forward to completing my h-model.But as it stands right now,I won't do any more on the slick till I'm sure the king will stay flying, and flying good.I figger with NO
