Zimatosa,

I went to the site and checked out the Phantom, looks pretty cool. Your right, there is "No Direct to swash likage". In there web site, they state that it is "CDE design"

Anyway, here's the scoop. CDE is better, 2 or more servos are used to move one control surface. HDE = Mechanical mixing, one servo is used to move one control surface.

The cost difference between the Phantom and EXI-450 is neglegable. The Phantom also, looks like it's 99 % Trex compatible.

Just more things to thing about.

Hey guys....it really sounds like the MX-400 without the 120degCCPM as it comes stock. To be honest...I get better results with the 120deg CCPM than I did with the stock setup....just my opinion, results may vary.

Honestly.....I love the stock E-Sky servos. I've used S-75's (hated 'em) and I've used HS-55's (they're OK). The stock servos are TOUGH, it takes a lot to blow them out.

In regards to the EXI 450,it's a trex 450sa clone, and for my style of flying,(scale) you just can't beat it IMHO.It doesn't matter to me if it's not the latest and greatest for 3d.It's simple, affordable, and there is no shortage of parts. It's built like a tank.I will change out the phillips head screws for hexhead, about 10 bucks,,,,,ain't no thang. It's direct linkage, not the spazzy bellcranks and 600 different length ballend links etc.A good stable platform for a unstable pilot ...................................like me.

Thanks Chief.....I'm solid in my decision, basic EXI-450 (x2ea) real soon here.

Ha, not trying to beat on anyone's choices, it just struck me odd- there are a lot of newer designs than the basic TR pattern. On the other hand, if it's a 100% bolt-for-bolt copy, then there are probably more than enough scale options for you.

That's almost the point. The T-Rex's have been around a while, are proven, and LOTS of choices in fuselages. The clones are pushing the quality to new limits and are if not as good, nearly as good as a T-Rex at more than less 1/2 the cost of a T-Rex....competetion is good in this aspect...the end user wins. Since the 500/600 market appeared, it has also made the 450 class heli within the financial reach of most of us, and the price on 2200mAh 20C batteries are now at an all time affordable low price if you look...I just bought 5 of them reciently and I'm using them on the MX-400 (even though it wasn't designed for such a long battery). I'm pulling 14 minuet flights....I don't do 3D anything.

Actually Osterizer,it is the point for me.Since lightweight/strength,new rotor designs etc is the "norm" now for you 3d pilots, you guys have tons of high quality choices in that area. For scale flying,it just isn't really needed.Crashcrash and I are into the total frustration of scale Reliable.affordable, available parts in the 450 size are everywhere.Best thing to happen to us is the 500's and 600's.Now we can afford something bigger and better then the king,or other 300 size heli's.Vic............14 min flights? WOW!! Thats cool as hell.I will have my exi 450 in the air come this next payday.I ain't waitin' on king II partz no mo It won't be fancy, just 55's on the swash,a 50 on the tail, and I'll be getting a telebee HH to put on it.When I can afford it,I'll swap all that stuff into the king, and go with better on the 450.As they say,"any port in a storm".Hey............ain't that naby speak
