... I guess I am assuming they both just have some of the same parts from HDX factory... Z, I don't think they have a factory. It's helidirect's "house" brand. It's private label (rebadged) stuff if the price is low enough. If the price isn't low enough, parts are made (oem) at whichever factory makes the particular item the cheapest, and then labeled with his brand. Cheap pricing is their main focus and the reason for their success. Microheli has a factory with their own engineers, cnc, assemblers, etc. High quality is their main focus and the reason for their success. I'm not drawing a line of distinction. With the cheap pricing goal, some products in the line will still have good quality. With the top quality goal, some products will still be reasonably inexpesnsive. It sort of balances it's self out, and the end user (we the users) benefit. Just a few years back, R/C helicopters were NOT within the working mans reach in price. Thanks to advancements in technology and competetion...we now can enjoy ( ) R/C helicopters. If you produce trash....it don't take long for people to make it known. If your stuff is good at a reasonable price, people make it known...hence the popularity of the HBKII ( a low end 300 sized R/C helicopter that has a reasonable degree of quality). Align is feeling the sting right now. They were the undisputed kings of the 450 class. Now, the clones are being produced with quality almost (and I mean real close) equal to the Align at 1/3rd the price. E-Flite has really taken a beating since the HBKII release because E-Flite cannot match quality or price in a 300 class unit. It's been interesting watching this hobby for the last two years.
