I had thought about swiching them over but never got around to it. To many honey-do's on my list I have not flown in almost a week.

Shizack, What would the threads have to do with the ball link popping off the ball?
Mine came with links.

Mine did not come with links - I used the stockers.

Due to the tighter grip of the link on the rod, more force is needed to turn the rod in the links. Sometimes the force needed to turn the rod is more than the grip the link has on the ball can stand, so off it pops.

Since reaming out the ball link, this has not been an issue even once.

Got to fly a couple batteries yesterday. Got my second HBK2 in the air to do some fine tuning. Danlion 3200,33a ESC and 11t pinion with Extreme turn buckles.. Stock every thing else. Only done one battery so far and it seems like I have to use 3/4 throttle to get er off the ground. Will have to go over it again with a fine tooth comb to see if I missed soemthing. Forgot what it was like to fly in rate mode. lol.

Go figure, we started talking about the extremes popping off and it started happening to me... I never had em pop off til this conversation came up.

Hey bud, on that danlion roll your pitch in a little early, it is a torque motor with alot of wattage output so you do not have to run headspeeds to fly it. Try adjusting your pitch curves and seeing what happens, if you are running the stock radio set your left knob at 12 and your right knob at 2 o'clock just for grins and see how you like that, maybe even set the right knob at 3 o'clock and the left one where the tail holds best (between 11 & 1 o'clock)

Z, the guy that does the training at Tom Cats, do you know his name?

F.Y.I....I talked to Mike Conrardy(The Heli trainer at Tom Cats RC Club) today about his training sessions. It is 30 bucks an hour, DX6i, all the fuel you can burn, Nitro Raptor 90 and if you crash, walk away laughing(No extra charge)!!!...Bring anyone and as many people that you want. 3 guys for 1 hour, 10 bucks apiece. 30 guys for 1 hour, 1 dollar apiece....Fricken cool!!!

His Hobby Shop is in San Jose(California-Hobbies.com). His training field is in Morgan Hill(Tom Cats). For anyone close to San Jose, there is also a new field opening for Heli's (only?) that he might switch his classes over to or alternate. It's the pumpkin patch where HWY 85 and Almaden Expressway meet. (North-East corner) You must fly all the way in the back by the "abandoned trailer". He will be painting California-Hobbies on the trailer soon. Check out his site for phone numbers and email if you ever going to be in San Jose...Sounds like a killer side-activity from the wife and kids while on Vacation...

Who wants some!!!????? I do!

Z

I concluded that they were not handed like the ones on the 450s. It's nice since you can adjust the blades more closely if you can use half turns instead of full.

I ran into this on a thread at HF..I had seen it before but it didn't register until I saw Ken directing someone else to it....
Just more input on the debate question: Are ball links bi-directional?

"""Contrary to popular belief, they are not bi-directional. Meaning there is a right way and a wrong way to attach them to the balls. One side of the ball link is slightly smaller than the other. As you might expect, the larger sized hole is the "inside" and the smaller size is the "outside". If you install them in reverse you'll have to force the smaller sized hole over the ball and will stretch the "loop" part of the ball end. This will add some slop to the ball link and when added up through all the connections in the head can cause tracking issues or contribute to lack of head precision.

Here are two new links. The difference in diameter is hard to see, but its there. Its a little easier to see the "inside" is very flat and the edges are squared off. The outside diameter is a tiny bit smaller and the edges are rounded off."""

Just to let y'all know, the Eflite links PN EFLH1437 work fine and are a tighter fit.

Beta, Running a DX7. Only had it in the air once so far and has been raining here ever since. Will give it a try.

Internet down, cable out. 3 ft dia. trees down in the front yard. Backyard looks like a war zone. Might need to get a huey canopy to make it fun...

hey guys, was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying my hbk2.. it has the 43t belt upgrade, esky brushless esc, a 3100 and 3900 motor, i think about 5 extra pairs of new blades, a couple extra feathering shafts, super skids, stock tx, stock gyro, the esc has a deans plug, i also have a lot more spare parts that i can get together and let you know if anyone is interested, it also has the aluminum esky carrying case.. the bird will need a little work due to my last crash, nothing serious though.. would make someone a good heli or just part it out.. i also have a bunch of extra servos for it.. anyone make an offer?? would like to get around 150 for it.. you can email @ garyt1123@hotmail.com .. i can also set it up on ebay to make a more scure transaction for the buyer.. i have an excellent ebay feedback.. i am sure there is a lot of extra stuff that i am forgetting.. thanks, gary

sounds like you live here in Oklahoma, lol. Hope everyone is alright!

Hollar at me when everything is up and going again, be glad to help get everything set-up with your radio. I am more familiar with futaba than spektrum but I have a dictionary of setting from tons of customers so we will be able to get it right. If you really do want to do a scale fuse, let me know, I have a few I would be glad to make a good deal on, I need to get rid of them, lol.
