Yeah, but you're out there in the boonies, same as me. He can't drive down the road and find a flying field.

Out here...nobody says boo if you use the paved road for a runway flying over the bean and corn fields as long as it's a road that hardly ever sees a car. Lived in Chicago for 8 years, that's a tough place to find a flying field too.

Hahaha good times I bet. Wish they did stuff like that around here. I live in New Jersey and where I'm at, it seems like i'm the only one into RC around here. Kinda sucks but whatever. At least it's nice to hear about cool things like that.

too bad you're kinda far from where i am. we have 3 flying clubs in my area alone. although i'm not a member of any (only AMA) and just fly on state reserved land with my friend. there's also a club in Edison which is further from you than the ones down here. let me know if you need more info.

There should be a warning stickied on here saying those $*+_*^^% blades will fly apart!!!!!!!!! I bought one of Nuttcaze's King 2's and he sent it to me with those Extreme blades on it. In the first few minutes of spooling it up, there was a LOUD bang and both blades broke - without ANY provocation. In a 2 1/2 car garage, it took me two days to find the one that broke and shot away. The other one was laying next to the heli. I bought two pairs of plastic blades from HeliDirect. Imagine my surprise to see they look exactly like the ones that exploded, except they are supposed to be solid plastic and not fiberglas. I guess I'll wait and see.

So I found out last night that the heli I bought (still in transit) has a set of Xtreme blades on it that we bought 2 weeks ago. Do you guys think they are part of the defective batch?

As long as you are setting the helicopter up with all the trims in the center and the throttle stick at center it can be done either way granted you are setting the pitch and throttle curves for 3D and Normal the exact same at 50-75-100. There is another debate on where your trim should be for throttle....My heli's ESC works the best when I set trim all the way down. Just remember that wherever you choose to leave the trim, program the ESC AFTER you choose and leave it alone....If you have a stock radio, i suggest doing it in normal mode though, I am not totally sure that the normal and 3D mode are the same at 50-75-100%???? Anyone, anyone....?

If you have not seen the set-up videos for the head, I recommend them highly. Even though they are not Kings, the information can be cross referenced...

Peace,

Z

I've watched some of the videos, big help in setup, I don't see how the previous owner even flew it as it was way out of whack. I'm using the stock radio right now, a Futaba is in my near future though, I was thinking the 6EX. My thought was that (with the stock radio) I should set it up in idle up mode because that's when you should have 0 degrees pitch at center stick, is that correct? Not that I'm going anywhere near 3D flight any time soon, but I want it set up correctly. I know when I switch radios I'll have to set it up all over again, I found a really good video on setting it up with the the 6EX but now I can't find where I saw it.

Joey...Mine did not let go either...I did not like the way they acted...went back to the 288 frp and now, since I can hover without destroying anything or the heli, I have graduated to 288CF blades...spend the nine bucks and get some woodies...hope this helps s

Just a heads up on the 6EX, it does have some compromises. No built in timer, no subtrims, and idle up pitch does not have a dedicated curve. It's fine if you can live without those, but they are nice to have.
