Zim- you're right, there's something wrong with the King that is probably pretty simple. Understanding what it is is the right answer. Replacing it with another heli without finding out what the problem is just means the same problem will show up in the future.

Hey Joey, I know your pain man, my king 2 is afraid of heights too, loves making itself dizzy on the floor, did everything in the world to get her up, I finally figured it out.... Copter X 450 V2!!!!!!!
Well she aint up yet either, but seriously sooths the pain lol

Am I the only one here that thinks this is a bad move? Sheesh make me the bad guy....Ok I will do it!

So, you buy a Heli and can not make it fly cause....?? O.k. guess that does not matter. You end up buying a Heli that costs triple the price of a King 2 to "sooth the pain"??? HUH? What? LOL...W.T.F.!??? I am beside myself....I do not mean to be an A-hole although I probably am so I am sorry.

I don't care which Heli you buy for your first one or last one for that matter, they all require the same TLC, blood, sweat, bank account, maintenance and tears. Shelf that Copter(ne)X(t), grab the King2 and learn it before you burn it!!!

Makes me sad to know there is yet another orphaned King2...

I will be in the dungeon if anyone needs me...

Peace,

Z

PS...This isn't match.com, what gives with the picture chisel chest?

You got room in the dungeon for me too? I got pretty snappy back there, I shouldn't have. WHen you're setting these things up.....it's a lot of see WHICH combination of settings work, and it takes a WHILE. The first time I had to program a DX7, it took the better part of 6 hours to get the swash to move right on that HBKII. I'm retiring my MX-400 as you know.....here's the list"

EXI-450
Telebee gyro
4 E-Sky 8g servos
Ranger fuselage
DX7 with two AR6100E's
HDX450 3800kv brushless with Rhino 11T pinion
Dynam 30a ESC
3 E-Sky 1800mAh chargers with power supply's

I'm starting with a FRESH outfit. The stuff on my MX-400 is carryover from the HBKII's...it's THAT OLD, and I've flown/crashed the stuffings out of it. The MX-400 is still very flyable...just needs a motor and pinion, which I will order because I don't see the EXI being flyable for over a month after I get it (programming, fuselage build, etc)...and I'm currently building a GWS Corsair with a brushless outfit.

Hey Crash,

Is that the Sonix motor that comes in the HDX that you are referring 2? I was not aware of the HDX brand motor...I am excited for you for sure. That is going to be one sweet little dialed and loved bird!

Keep us posted on progress....

Peace,

Z

oh snap, we hit 200 pages! ding ding ding ding... we each get a free HBK2!

i have to agree with the chastising given. that's like when you go to a mechanic and he tells you that you need to replace all this crap for $1500, when it's really just a $20 part if you take the time to figure which.

if people think that these little eCCPM helis are tough, try setting up push-pull linkage on a mCCPM 50 and above engine class. you have to hold like 2 right angle rulers at the same time and then support the linkage with your pinkies while trying to mark the spot for a hole on the round servo horn with a metal pin tool that you're holding with your teeth. (some exaggeration added of course ). then, learn the Tx setup from scratch with just online tutorials, manual and hands on trial and error. so basically, as a noob, learn to build, setup and fly $1500 worth of heli and electronics without anyone around to help. i somehow managed by just being patient and taking my time (yea yea i like to brag about that haha). heck, using stock Tx with preassembled eCCPM sounded like bliss by then lol.

guys, don't give up! seriously. i'm willing to help people in my area and i bet you can find someone in other locations. i know it gets frustrating, but it takes time to learn how these machines work. it's a lot more complex than airplanes or cars. it WILL TAKE TIME, whether it's a simple setup or not, whether it flies outta the box or not. you WILL HAVE TO LEARN how it works and how to fix it at some point. learn it EARLY.

\end chastising

Hey Zim, FYI the Copter X WAS ONE QUARTER THE PRICE OF A HONEY BEE KING 2!!!!

It cost me twice as much in upgrades in an effort to get the stupid thing airborne, following ALLLLLLL advice here..

So Putting that King in a box was justified!

Well done you for getting one that worked, as you can see not all are working..
Some are simply pieces of **** )

GOODBYE KING 2 and HELLO COPTER X!

Is there no clubs in your area where someone else has a king or Heli experience to help you out a little on this little problem.
Often when your looking at what seems like a can of worms of problems its a lot easier to just sit back witha brew and just look at it and map out a process of elimination (besides eliminating the heli to the trash). Most of gyro like problems are more then just 1 underlying problem. Just do each step in a sequence and if you have to make a note of exactly what you did. Nice thing about the king is its a good learning machine for trouble shooting as its a very simple system. Once you can trouble shoot the problems on a king you will be much more confident when you are looking at a similar problem with a more $$$ heli. What are you going to do if you have a problem with the hdx? Do you perhaps think you will get more support then you can with your king? Actually as far as cp helis go for support the king ll and the Align are probably the best supported and most documented helis out there.
Throwing money at a problem very rarely solves, or makes it go away unless it involves sex, marrige or buying a judge!

I have a customer in Cork, maybe I can ping him and see if he is willing to trade information with you (if Cork is close to you). Let me know if you are interested.
