What is the time limit on typing a message? and having it apear? I'm sorry but I'm pissed because I'm a slow typer?

I don't know what the limit is, but if you're having trouble, compose the message in notepad, then cut and paste it in the forum thread.

That happens to myself a bit also. I now compose the message, then highlite the entire message and copy it. Then I post it, if I get the server timeout message i just refresh the page and do like George1234 suggested and paste it. I have a tendancy to get a wee bit long winded at times so learned early on that copy/paste are your best 2 buddys on a open internet forum.

Can anyone tell me where in this thread is any useful info about the Gryo Switch on the ESKY transmitter.

I could not find any info in the users manual with regard to what the switch does and where it needs to be positioned?

I am flying a stock King 2 with the El-cheapo RTF ESKY gyro at this point.

I'm guessing its a switch for using a fancier aftermarket gyro (like a FUT 401) with ability to switch from rate to HH modes from the Tx.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Robo, the gyro switch on the E Sky 0406A TX is for switching from HH to Rate. Up is rate down is HH. I downloaded the manual from the E Sky web site for the 4 and 6 ch TX and it explains the switch on page 9 about middle of the page.

Thanks for the speedy reply, I just soldered the battery leads for the new brushless controller and will try it out when I get off work tonight.

I read all about the overheating issues with the stock motor and ordered the brushless combo at the time I ordered the heli.

In fact, I flew only once with the brushed motor for about 4 minutes yesterday and it was AMAZINGLY HOT !!!!

Going to download the manual as well and read up a bit.

Thanks for the help. Robo

Does anyone carry a sturdier main shaft than the stock one? I just replaced mine recently and had a rather minor "incident" and my new shaft is bent Seems to have bent at the bottom this time instead of the top.

If it's anything I learned about the HBK2, it's to not use the OEM motor. For kicks, I plugged the OEM motor directly into a freshly-charged 3S lipo, and with no load, the motor started getting quite warm, quite quickly.

I have never flown with the OEM motor...

It's not surprising it warmed up. Running with no load the timing gets messed up on a brushed motor. Put it on a flywheel and see if it still does it.

Ok so you got a bent main shaft. Now for the bad news. They come like that! Yep, really, I have had them with runout at .015 from center right out of the package. That was like 3 out of 5 of them.
If you have one thats bent on the bottom you can be sure you didn't bend it. Virtually impossible to bend one at the bottom without breaking the frame or tearing up the main gear.
Just keep on takeing them back to the LHS till you get a stright one is all you can do unless you have a couple of matched V and V blocks, a dial indicator and a big F hammer!.

gyro switch on the Esk tx is for the Esky HH gyro ONLY. leave it in the down postion as it has no function on the stock rate Esky gyro. Your Rate Gyro is adjusted by the gain adjustment screw on the gyro it's self. After you set the set the linkage and adjust the postion of the servo for the rate gyro.

Well I ordered 3 more, they're cheap, will check them before use. Wonder if a machine shop could straighten the old ones.
