Those are feathering shafts, we're talking main shaft here.

Speaking of main shafts, did E-sky ever correct the hole placement for the pin that holds the belt gear? I have a bunch of the older ones and the hole is placed too low on the shaft and the belt doesn't align properly as it slips off of the guide. I want to order a few more replacements but don't want the misplaced alignment issue.

The newest "bare bones" I saw a month ago still had the hole too low. I guess they don't see a problem with it, LOL.

If you get the microheli main shaft the hole is essentially in the same place and no, esky has not changed the position of the hole. As far as the belt pulley riding too low or high, get a belt pulley that runs grub screws and you can move it anywhere on the shaft you want, I run them and love them but also run cnc spacers in place of my belt guides to ensure the belt stays where I want it to and suffers as little wear as possible.

Hi all,

Had a minor crash the other day. Took out the blades, feathering shaft, and main gear. Now I notice that one of the servo's (stock esky) output shaft starts to shake when the throttle is in a particular position. This does not sound to me like a gear has broken inside it. Don't know what to do except to replace it.

Any thoughts?

Jim

i once asked matt (who makes mod parts for the corona120, including 5mm ti shafts) if he could make titanium main shafts for the hbk2...basically, he said it wouldn't be feasible, because ti is very hard to drill...ken

does the servo kinda skip a few degrees and click? one of mine does that after a crash, at lower swash positions and after opening it i found one of the gears had a broken tooth. the heli still flies fine because this doesn't happen in higher swash positions, i just can't fly inverted.
i already bought a spare servo, but i'm still using the old one. does anyone know if they sell just the gears?

No, at a particular throttle position the servo just starts to vibrate slightly back and forth.

Mine did the same, think its the mini pot in the servo , bad spot or something. Also try this, if your still using the stock TX like I am, open it up and spray the back of the boards with contact cleaner. WD40 will work too if it's readilly available. see if that smooths it out. might not be in the servo at all, could be the TX. when you crash you tend to get a little rough on the sticks trying to save it, at least I do, try it, it can't hurth either way.

I am using a DX7 so it probably is not that. I agree, it might be the pot in the servo. Will try opening it and spraying it with contact cleaner. Thanks everyone.

Well DX7 definitely isnt the problem, yeah try the servo pot, might help. and while you got it open you can see if the gears might be broken but if you say they arent notchy then they prolly arent, I got tones of old servos lying around that still have good electronics, let me know, if your gears are good I'll sve you a few $'s and send you one of my old cases- the gears of course because I cannibalize them.

I just got a HBKII a couple of days ago and the belt keeps slipping off the guides. Any ideas why it's doing that?
