I have a telebee gyro and the 43 tooth gear. Could not be happier with the result. As I keep proving to myself, setup is everything. Try to learn what every adjustment is for. I am still learning.

I would like to hear from someone who has direct experience with the three different brands of King metal upgrades (E-Sky, MicroHeli, and CNC). Which is the best value? Which seems to have the better metal as far as resisting stripping or pull of fasteners and resistance to crash damage. Also, since the metal would be stronger than the plastic bits in a mishap, what is the next weak link (ie servos gears, arms)?

well, i just got back from flying my Evo50 and HBK back to back. i gotta say, i really don't feel confident with stock gyro to do anything but tail-in and side-in moving about, where as on the Evo i was actually flying all over the field every-each-way. i had to set the gain on the esky a bit lower last time because it wagged, yet today the tail would rotate on throttle up and throttle down in the air. not to mention that if i gave it sharp rudder input and let go, it would snap back like 30 degrees. definitely not good for noob pilots like me, or ones even noobier than me. i can't wait to get the telebee.

in other news, the Xtreme plastic blades V2 are pretty good so far. they're noticeably more flexible than woodies, hence my previous boom strikes from emergency landing too quickly. i'm trying to partially remedy that by setting pitch to 0 at bottom stick, so that they don't get forced down by negative pitch. as someone mentioned on this or another thread though, when you get more durable blades and harder feathering shaft (like i did), other stuff will bend (my main shaft and tail boom got pwned more than with woodies). so just a reminder for all, to keep that in mind.

oh yea and i'm flying with 2 servos that each have 1 broken tooth on a single gear now lol. only binds at the extreme negative pitch though.

yeah i know now lol after spending 70 on a new pack and 60 on a new speed control the problem was the brown ground wire in my pitch servo had come off the motor can so 5 minutes of dissasembly and a quick hit from the soldering iron was all it needed it had mysteriously this all happened after i spent some time shortning my servo leads because im a total neat freak when it comes to my wiring jobs guess i tugged a little to hard and thats what happened very annoying i think in these situations my brain shuts down because it wants me to take a trip to the hobby shop just for the hell of it i know its not me I mean i have copies of RCM magazine laying around from 1986 ...and im only 26 now on the upside i was using a basic aircraft speed control and the factory battery so those were the last two electronics i wanted to upgrade the 1800 mah E-flite is awesome and allows the model to balance perfectly for once so all in all a bad situation turned out good

actually that 30 mm is the correct measurement IF you measure to the part of the z bend that is linked onto the horn and not the end of the linkage itself. As for the 57 mm it works out to from the middle of one ball link to the top of the other ball link if that makes any sense. Ok makes about as much sense as the manual but thats where the measurements come out. I got mine off that little piece of paper that came in the manual like an afterthought which I'm sure it was.

That is a little hard to answer mine has been with the Hong Kong cnc which for the price is not bad however you need to be handy with taps and fitting parts by hand to get them to work properly, the workmanship looks good but.. out of the plastic baggie a stock head is tighter out of the baggie. I have some Esky CNC parts mixed in with my Hong Kong head such as the washout and it still had to be reworked in a vise to take the slop out of it (needed tightend where the pins pass through it considerably). I just replaced my second swashplate (first one came apart, counterfit!) and the second one (Esky) simply wore out and got so sloppy I was bounding around as the pitch changed on whim. I dont know anyone with the Micro Heli however at the price it costs to put in a complete Esky head verses a Micro heli head I would do neither as the Esky head will cost close to 100$ and the Micro is well over that as I remember (close to or more then 175$) it is mostly sold in parts. you might look at the head that Cnch has http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet/the-Esky-king-cool-CNC/Categories for about 100$ its pretty much a copy of the stock head but in 7075 alum, Zimatosa has one on his King and is more then happy with it and crashed it pretty good and it didnt damage the head except for a few scratchs. He has had to do no maint of any kind but oil it and usual bolt tightening. IF you want to really put in a good head you might look into the Cnch 450B head as its a bolt in but does need a touch or handwork, it's a trex lookalike and very very precise and also built from 7075 treated alum. and only 110$. On the same line CopterX makes the same head but from 6061 alum (very soft) and its only about 60$ but I never heard anything good about it.
only from what I have seen
on a scale of 1-10 taking price into consideration.
cnch 450b head probably about a 9
the cnch Esky style about 7
the cnc purple esky head 5
Hong Kong counterfit head 4! and thats pushing it! ...But for the price I would still buy it over the Esky cnc head now that I know its shortcomings.
No comment on the Micro heli as I havnt heard of anyone actually paying that much for a Esky type head...

Hey guys, I'm having some issues with my HBK2 tail control.

After a pretty good crash and burn, i bought a HBK2 bare bones and put all my electronics on it. Now I'm having trouble getting the tail to behave. It slowly spins nose right even with full right rudder. The only thing i could think of would be belt tension, but it looks fine to my eyes. I've even adjusted it to too lose and too tight to troubleshoot it.

I'm at a loss here... any ideas?

Visaggio,
You make the adjustment by sliding the tail servo on the boom. Loosen the mounts and very slowly (1mm steps) move the servo up (toward the motor) or down (toward the tail rotor) on the boom until the tail is under control. Be carefull to tighten the servo mounts again.

Better tail authority is a telebee gyro and T-rex tail blades. I had to lightly sand them to fit into the tail grips and move freely. After that move to the 43T. Mine a rock solid and the tail blades actually rip the air and sounds like a band saw.

Blessings,

Jay
