Horizon has posted a NEW/ DIFFERENT picture of the retracts. The new picture clearly shows that the cylinders on the mains are ahead of the trunions (not behind, like the 550s that I purchased), which verifies thet the 530 series are the correct ones.
The new picture also shows the correct nose gear RoboStrut, but it is shown mounted 180 deg off the correct position (scissors should be on the rear side of the strut, not the front , and strut offset is to the right side).

I just would like to clarify that the new images on our web-site of the Robart Retracts are the correct gear for the B-25. The original image was of a first sample set that I missed the orientation of the nose strut prior to our photo studio taking the images. The nose strut shown in the new image (which the orientation shown is a view from the bottom)is the correct part and it is facing the correct direction. The nose wheel is on the left side of the offset strut and the scissor link is facing towards the rear of the aircraft.

Here is a couple of photos of the Full Scale "Mitch the Witch II. Which is a gloss paint scheme by the way.

Thank You

Yes that is correct. THE next batch due in late December will not have the engines.

The next shipment to the UK is going out about the same time direct from the factory.

Bill,

You say the next shipment, has there already been one to the UK then or is this the first?

Reason I ask is my local hobby shop feels he always gets treated differently to others and new product appears to come to him when everyone else has had theirs first.

Jason,

I do beleive that the first shipment to the UK will be in December. I think we sent Helgar our UK distributor a half dozen or so of the original engine equiped airframes even though they were not part of our dealer stocking program here in the USA. Be sure you have one on backorder as I am sure once the next shipment arrives they will again go out and we may again be out of stock.

I am sorry for the delay in obtaining one of our B-25's but we have been overwhelmed to say the least with the popularity of this new release. We are working as fast as we can to try to get the next shipment to all our dealers ASAP.

Guys, Have now 10 flights on the machine. Robart did good, as far as retracts. H9 the design! Little note, keep the steering cables out of the way of the nose strut. 3/16 ply verticals maybe 1.5 long with a 3/16 standoff on each end. Glue to sides of wells with steering cable outside between vertical and well. Had the steer wires catch on ret. mount pinion and made for a nose gear collapse. Now all's fine now. Weight, all-up, Electric 16 lbs. These motors have instant acceleration, so 100 ft you are off, without flaps. Do land with full flaps, power on till runway under you then power off gradually and flare! Simple right, yes. Running TP 5000 packs and get 10min. Recharge and both packs take within 100mah of each other so the power system is right on. Handles the wind great. As this is my first scale war-bird a person can get hooked. Thumbs UP. Timothy Have you thought about contacting Wing MFG and aquire one of their gun kits for their B-25. It has all the gun barrels and a couple main bodies of the 50 cal machine gun. I think the set is only about $25.00 maybe a lot less. I got mine with my B-25.

A couple of items to keep in mind if you are going to try and use the Saito 72's. You will need to purchase new longer engine mounts and along with the larger heavier mounts you will be adding close to 3/4 pound forward of the CG from where we flew our test models equiped with the Evolution 36NT's. You may be able to offset this by moving the RX battery back from the nose of the model to maintain the correct CG.

The other issue you will have will be firewall clearance for the throttle pushrod since tehis motor is over 30 mm longer as well. You will most likely need to notch out the firewall. I do not have the CAD file here at home to verify this as to how much. The 13 x 8 props that work best with this engine will clear the fuselage by about 1 1/2"

Also as a side note on the main wheel diameter. The largest wheel size that will fit all the way up into the into the nacelle (against the lower wing skin) is 3 5/8" If you use the nacelle tire blister like the full size used you should be able to get closer to 4 1/4".

Regards

I have test fit Saito .62s in mine (same length as .56/ .50, but shorter than the .72/ .82): It appears that an engine any longer/ larger than these would either have to have longer cowls, OR the prop will be farther ahead of the front of the cowl than it should. Bottom line: I really don't think anyone should go larger than the Saito .56, unless they don't care how it looks. And by all accounts (in case youv'e read this before but refuse to believe it): the twin Saito .62/ .56 setup is much more power than this warbird needs.

As it is in my case: the rear most part of the .62 is less than 1/4" from the firewall for the prop to be in the correct location.
