hello, i got my hanger 9 b-25 about a month ago and i also got the evo 36's already installed in it. I have had several problems getting it ready to go though. my rudder servos that i purchased for it were horrible and were grinding so i had to take them out. and when i was taking them out i put a string on the extention so i could pull threw the new servo extentions and it worked on the left servo but not on the right. so am i screwed? do i have to get a whole new tail? or is there a way to get the servo extention threw the tail without a string?

I've used a small nut tied to a piece of sturdy thread when space is tight. then holding the fuse vertically I shook it for a bit untill the nut fell out of the bottom. Then I used the thread to pull thru dome string, then you're back to square one. Dunno if this will work for you, but i hope so.

Al, Hang in there. Once you get the kit it goes together fast.

Were your servos analog? If so, the "grinding" sound you heard was possibly the servos trying to find center. I'm no electronic wizard, but I know these, and some digitals before programming can do this. I've been told that it is inconsequential by people much more in the know than I. Leter in life, these servos will quiet down some as they wear in. No techno-jargon here...I don't know the words. Maybe take the question to the receiver and servo forum if you want to get it right. Trying to save you a couple of servos is all.

yes, they were. but i toke the servo apart and the gears were completly destroyed and i bought 2 new gear sets and the same thing happened so im just going to buy new servos for the rudders. any suggestions? they have to be micros with 40 oz of torque.

Anybody who has a hanger 9 b25 what did you put in for the servos for the rudder?

I used Hitec HS 81's in my rudders and 1 for the air valve. If you have to have 40 ozs. you might want to spend a little more and get the HS 85's.

Hitec 85's in mine. What in the world caused your servos to grenade on the bench?

Weird! I have the hs 81s in mine too.
would the metal gears help not to grind? like the hs 81mg?

Why don't you try using what H9 recommends in the manual -- JR331 Micros?
Just a thought....

Question for you guys running electric. I put my bird on the balance machine and its showing tail heavy without battery packs. Receiver battery is up front. Were you electric guys able to get the CG resaonable with no additional weight added to the nose? I'm looking at moving one of my 5s packs to the nose to get it to balance at the 3.75 number. I'm also a little disappointed in duration of my packs running static. I have the Eflite 46, 60 amp esc and 5s 4000 packs. I get about 5 minutes out of the packs at 3 clicks above half throttle. Using a 13 x 8e prop I'm pulling 46 amps 725 watts at full throttle. A 12 x 6 3 blade pulled 36 amps and 590 watts. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Jerry.

I thought the 46's were only rated to 50amp max (or even lower), what amps do you get on 5 cell as I was thinking of 4's?

I played with additional props this week and here are the results using the Eflite46 and 5s 4000 batteries. One of those batteries located in the nose to get the CG correct.
Two blades(APC e), 13/6.5 - 44 amps 780 watts, 13/10 - 61 amps 905 watts. Three blade (MA) 13/8 - 46 amps 711 watts. The three blade 13/8 and two blade 13/8 were pretty close which surprised me. The thrust from the 13/6.5 two blade felt stronger than the three blades. I'll try the 6.5 first and then try the three blades. But the way Winter is going its going to be a couple of months before I get the chance to do any flying if we keep getting all this snow. Thanks, Jerry.
