Did my hanger 9 B25 as "Briefing Time". I am building my friend's as MMR. We will need to have an "Adult Only " section for his.

I've got Hitec HS-81's in mine too. Only problem is servo arms are short, need to get longer ones.

Hi Jerry,

Sounds like my setup is going to be close to yours. I've got power 46's with 5 cell FP evolite 4270, 55 amp FP esc and 13x8 props. I read on another post that 13x8 is too many amps for the motor and a 12x6 is is better although disappointing results in watts with this prop by the looks of it. You should be able to get 800watts out of each motor but I reckon that's running a course prop and at max amps of 55 in short bursts. Ideally I wanted 700watts per motor if I can get 14lbs auw, what's yours?

You should be able to get an idea once airbourne, it's difficult static to measure. The props unload in the air reducing the amp draw so you should get longer. Don't forget as well this is a bomber and you only need half throttle to fly around scale, full throttle should be used for emergencys.

As a rule I fly my aircraft for a small number of minutes, recharge the batteries and access the number of mah used and increase the time to suit.

Right then, she's ready for the weekend.

All up weight is 14.2lb, that's 2 x power 46, 2 x FP 55A esc, 2 x FP Evo-Lite 4270 5 cell, servos, 1200mah 6v receiver pack and fixed u/c.

Not sure of power output at the moment, my mate reckons this is one heavy bird but doesn't seem to realise the wing area/loading situation.

Let you know the motor output soon, I want to make sure I test this before getting airbourne.

Fly my B25 yesterday.

as some of you know, i was having problems with my rudder servos.

one of my rudders went out early in flight and it still flew great. even did a little bit of aerobatics. Great flying plane. I didn't use flaps on the first flight i was having problems with them but it turned out to be a linkage problem, easy fix.

my B25 came with the evolution 36nt's and they did really well didn't quit once on me. i was flying with a zinger 10-6 prop and it was slower than it should be almost scary slow so im going to put like some 10-8 or 10-7 on it or should i put a 9-7 or 8 on it?
any suggestions?

I just finished my Mitchy. Powered by 2 Saito .62's with retracts and 12 oz tanks. Batteries in the nose 1650 mah nimh and 6 oz to balance. 14lb's 15 oz. All in all not bad. if the fixed uc and .46's weigh 14.2 I am pleased with the result. I have only heard good things about the 62's. I intend to use APC13X7 props possibly 14X6. Radio control Zone review by Chris Chianelli says they should turnthe 13X6 approx 9900 and idle at 2200 and the 14X6 9400 and 2100 and I believe this was on 15% sport fuel with 18% oil. Reported to be only better with additional Nitro. I can't wait to get this thing in the air.It ought to scoot.

" Be sure and publicize this event a month or so before it happens. Who knows: MAYBE you can get 16 of them. If it's a weekend long event, AND camping is allowed: I'll certainly make the effort (about 300+ miles for me one way).te]"

Corsair Jock Our Warbird fly in is a one day event on Oct 5th this year. Check out our calendar for the year. www.gcrcc.net There are many pilots and great planes for this one. It is well attended. All are welcome. It is a 1 day event but do have camping but no electric. We do have a generator for the field. Pretty good size.

General question here,

the right engine and left engine are offset from the centerline by about 1/4 inch. Anyone know why? Just trying to understand.

Thanks,

Ken

I have been very interested in this plane as a great first twin since it came out and following this informative forum has been fun...
But now very curious why it has literally gone dead? Has it moved???

Ken,
Engine offset is common in twins to make the plane less apt to snap or roll in an engine out situation. It is designed in to counter the adverse yaw. Another little "secret" in helping to stabilize a twin in an engine out situation is to give the rudders a little "toe-out". If an engine dies, the thrust from the good engine influences its rudder to offset the yaw a little bit. Both of these "tricks" do not make a B25 stable during single engine operation...just a little more controllable. Don't forget to steer with rudder and try not to turn into the dead engine!

Nacelle Template Problems and Servo Help,

When I got my kit, I got 2 Left hand EP, and 2 Right hand template GP. Went back to the hobby store who had a new kit that was bashed up during shipping. The wood bad had 2 left and 2 right hand EP Templates. I contacted Horizon and they sent me a new wood bag. This one had 2 Right hand EPs and 2 left hand GPs. I now have enough to give me what I required and assist the hobby shop complete their kit (so the next guy won't have to go through te same routine).

After my third complaint Hangar-9/Horizon is looking into the Packaging problem.

3 out of 3 wood bags I saw were packaged incorrectly.

Now, I don't fly JR, anyone out there using Hitech servos?? What are you using for the rudders? I thought HS-85MGs, but the hobby shop convinced me to go to HS125MG Slim Wing servos. Think they'll do?

Thanks

Pte Jack

85's and 125's have same torque - if the 85's are cheaper and fit, why bother with 125's?

Fytrjok,

that's a great idea you made about pre-setting the rudders to help in an engine-out scenario, but i believe you meant a slight "toe-in"(the leading edges closer together than trailing edges - same as with cars). I suspect toe-out would definitely create a hairy situation in an engine-out, rolling the plane INTO the dead engine. Is toe-in what you meant?
