What motors do you have? Have you tried putting a 13x8 prop on it and seeing what the rpm's would be?

The evo 36 2 stroke motors used on the test plane were spinning 10x4x3 props, but at a much higher rpm. This setup provided about a 55MPH top speed. In the video on Horizon's site, it seemed the plane flew ok.
An 11x6 at 10500 will give a flying speed of 59MPH not including drag
A 13x8 at 8200 will give flying speed of 61MPH not including drag

So, both of those are flyable. Just, the thrust provided is less on the 11x6 prop. So...you'll need a decent amount of runway.
I would suggest trying to see what you'd get rpm wise on a 12x8 prop.
A 12x8 say at 9000 rpm's would give more thrust then you got with the 11x6's and a higher flying speed of roughly 67MPH.
This is a B-25, so top speed isnt as important as thrust is, but the 12x8 seems like a better match

Im flying blind here sort of sicne I dont know what motors your trying to use.

Here is the motor I am using:
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=3889

Mine both test to about 850KV. I did search around and found a review on a Super Tiger GS-40 and it spins an APC 11x6 10,450 rpm. So I think I am close. I will have to head up to the hobby shop to get a bigger prop to try.

More then a few ppl used a 12x8 prop on your motor. A few used 13x8's and even one put a 14x9 on it. I think you'd be good to go with using a 12x8x3 MAS prop. I'd say using the 11x6's would not be optimal and isnt pushing the motor to peak efficiency. I had this issue with my turnigy 50-65c. I started with a 16x10x3 prop and just didnt get that great of performance. Once I UPPED the prop to a 16x13x3 it really woke up.

Did my hanger 9 B25 as "Briefing Time". I am building my friend's as MMR. We will need to have an "Adult Only " section for his.

"Briefing Time" is hangared 3 miles from me! In fact she was out flying this weekend at our WW2 Airshow! cool!

Well, I had always wanted a B-25 and have about ten years experience designing and flying twins. I also have several Hanger 9 kits under my belt so I was expecting a lot more from this kit than I received, in fact I am really sorry that I didn't buy the Top Flight 5-25 as I started to do. A list of problems that I encountered are too numerous to list on this forum but the straw breaker came when I went into my back yard to break in the EVO 36 engines (I would have prefered four strokes but the kit came with them installed). I noticed there was a terrific vibration coming from the left engine. When I took the cowling off to inspect it I found that the nacelle's firewall was what was allowing the engine to move in every direction. There are no visable cracks in glass, just too flimsy. During construction I ran into many problems that are of a engineering standpoint. If anybody is interested I have a word file that I made on the entire construction process.

I also purchased the Piper Pawnee at the same time and these were to be my last two birds that I build. It has an extreemly weak landing gear block set up.

Sincerely yours,
Leslie H. Howell

I'd sure like your Word document, as I'm getting ready to start mine. So if you'll send me a pm I can give you an Email...
The gear on my Pawnee appears to be plenty strong. But I haven't maidened it yet because even tho it's ready to go, one of the strut ends has no threads in it and Horizon doesn't have any replacements! Go figure!

I have just about every war plane Hanger 9 makes and with the exception of a few minor things I think the kits are very good. LOL

I would have to agree. I own 3 Hangar 9 kits. An old Cherokee (still flying after 10+ years), a 1/4 scale Cap 232 (Still flying after 6 years) and am building the B-25.

I have been impressed with the overall quality of the kit. From the finish, which is the best I have seen ever on an ARF (My covering didn't have a single wrinkle or bubble in it), to the overall scale appearance, which is pretty good in my book, to the instructions and the overall value that I see in this kit, I would highly recommend it.

There have been some minor annoyances, however.

First, the blind nut issue that I raised with the retracts. They put triangle stock to brace the nose, but that meant the blind nuts wouldn't fit. Easy enough fix, just used button head screws.

Second, They didn't mark the templates very well (I actually received two sets of the same templates, the gas ones, so I was struggling to figure out what GP meant..Gas powered, dummy), nor emphasize the right and left nacelle in the instructions. There is a different angle of the firewall, and so I got lucky and got the right template on the correct nacelle.

Third, I am on my third try with the retracts, and I can't get them not to leak. The issue is the plastic T's used to join the hoses. They are sending me brass ones at no charge.

Fourth, I had to do a fair amount of work to get the flap linkages working so they wouldn't cause the servos to buzz. Had to cut away a lot of balsa.

Fifth, no mention is made of a servo extension for the rudder servos, but I needed them. Not sure if JR's wouldn't have, but my Futabas did.

Sixth, I found the best way to install the wing nacelle top pieces was to use canopy glue directly onto the covering. Great results, and easy with no mess. Thanks to one of the forum users for that tip. I think it was dave.....

After all said and done, I'd highly recommend this kit to anyone interested in a twin B-25. Looking at the Top Flight, I think it is obviously higher quality, but it is also almost twice as much money, and in my mind, the H9 is the much better value.

I have to get the exhaust hooked up (using a Saito Flex exhaust pipe for the twin .62s, hoping to get them out the side of the cowling in a semi-scale look), the cowlings installed, the retracts fixed, then she's ready to fly. Cant wait.

Just my thoughts,

Ken

The plastic "T"s in the air line setup are NOT hangar 9 products and therefore you should remove that item as a gripe against the plane.
The air retracts are robart and the "T"s are from them. Any plastic "T" for airlines have a tendency to develop cracks. Its nice that Horizon is replacing them with brass ones, but its not their fault. Ive had to replace several of the plastic kind and tr
