Corsair 29 -> New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/28/2007 11:07:50 PM)

I just saw this on Horizons web page:

Here's a pic:

TLH101 -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/28/2007 11:49:18 PM)

The B-25 "wars" are on![:D]
KMP, Top Flight, and now H-9.

LDM -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 3:33:05 AM)

very cool , I like the fact that they provide an e-package , twin engines are over my head but twin eletrics are much more friendly

mobyal -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 3:39:51 AM)

I wonder when deliveries will actually take place. Hopefully not too much later than August. On the other hand, what a great winter project....

RCHS1 -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 4:58:15 AM)

FOR 399.99 YOU CANT BEAT THIS IT IS SURE TO BE A WINNER HANGAR 9 ALWAYS MAKES A QUALITY PRODUCT

timothy thompson -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 5:09:51 AM)

some of the turret detail looks off tf is coming out with one buy dont know if it fitted for electric

LDM -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 11:07:21 AM)

The H9 plane looks reasonable as far as price and the suggested e-flight package seems reasonalble as well , like I said I saty away from twin engines , also stayed away from e-flight warbirds where the batteries run in the $300 to $400 range for one , this one is doable

Glacier Girl -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 4:30:01 PM)

Yeah but those packs can be used in multiple birds. I have an 8 pack 3S3700 set up in my N/P's P38, but the same packs in different combos, also run my Hangar 9 Camel and P40, a N/P P47, a Polks Hobby AC47, my EFLite Cub, my Double Blitz, and my new VQ P38, heck with the B25, $800.00 spent for packs now become low cost when spread out over all those birds.
$800.00 devided by 9 birds, heck I'm less then a hundred a bird in cost.

Yeah the wifey will believe that. But honey look how much I saved.[:)]

WarbirdAirRacer -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 4:44:55 PM)

put me on the list for one of those bad boys!!![8D]

someone say top flite is coming out with a B-25 ?

BankYank -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 4:49:50 PM)

Looks like i found my next WWII plane. You just know that it is going to fly as good as the P-51 and P-47. Im all for a couple of little 40's or 52's four stroke's plus good retracts drop right in!!!!!.
Looks like H9 might be pulling even further ahead with this one and at $399 it's going to be hard to beat!!
Wonder if TF will ever get back in the ring.
Pat

danrc2 -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/29/2007 10:22:29 PM)

is this plane for sale now???? looks really good!!!! i did see a date for it.

LDM -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/30/2007 2:29:17 AM)

GG good point but for a nitro guy its difficult to make the switch when you look at a plane on hobby lobbys site , you see the plane for $250 , engine $100 , speed control $150 , ok not bad so far , then you get hit with batteries needed 2 , cost per pack 370 [X(], so I know they can be used in more then one plane and trust this plane has my interest , I just wish pack would come down like all the other tech RC advancements

mobyal -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (6/30/2007 2:50:00 AM)

Yeah, LDM. And don't forget the varoius chargers, one for the field, one for the shop, at a minimum. One set for Nicads, one set for Lipos. Last I checked, they weren't giving those away either.

LDM -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (7/1/2007 3:03:45 AM)

ya Moby , and I need the book "chargeing for dummies "[8|]
oh well I dont want to be a party pooper , this plane dose look very cool and I must say I have nothing but luck with the Hanger 9 warbirds , so by Xmas I will probaly own one because that give me 6 months to sell wifey on the idea [:D]

Hepdog -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (7/1/2007 3:19:30 AM)

Little birdy told me September release[:o] Winter project indeed.

Twin electrics would be nice for reliabilty - but correct the initial outlay would be higher than glow.

Twin glow wouldn't be that bad. I've never had any of my Super Tiger 40's quit on me yet - until I put them in a twin I suppose[:@]

ramcfarland -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (7/1/2007 4:19:51 AM)

I love it for the price and the power options gottA be interesting to see Top Flites come up on the web as well[8D]

LDM -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (7/1/2007 1:58:11 PM)

From a business point of view i admire Horizons aggressive stance on warbirds , they are licking Top Flight butt as far as continnued releases . Its great for competition and keeping prices in check .

LuftwaffeOberst -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (7/1/2007 10:04:30 PM)

I agree with all of you... I've been talking with Horizon and they will start releasing Axis Birds, but they gave me little info on the time... or when. It seems that there main thing is price waring to what is already out there. How many Cubs, P-51's and 47's are they going to make? [&:]

The B-25 is a nice addition, I have one of there Cubs and I have a Custom ARF PTS Mustang. Hanger 9 is very good in quality and price. Heck, I can even use the stock hardware. [8D] I look forward in having a 109 or 190. [:D]

Thats great news on Hangar 9 possibly making AXIS planes. I'd love to have a .60 size ME-109. I have a KMP, but the darn thing is so expensive(and made of fiberglass), I dont wanna risk damaging it so it sits half finished in the basement until our club's runway gets extended. Right now, we got a 250 ft runway and thats not enough for the KMP plane at all, especially with the narrow landing gear requiring long roll outs keeping it stright to prevent wing tip drag on ground or nosing over.
Heck, landing some .60 size planes on it can be troublesome.

As far as the H9 B-25, yeah, that one is on my list to get as well. I like the slight smaller size compared to the TF one and of course the price is more attractive. I have a .56 saito I can use on it, just need another one. Or, I have an rcv60-sp I could use if I got a 2nd of those. I'd rather use saito since I know the reliability of them are pretty good and i can tune them well. Lastly, I have two .46 2-strokes already, but, well, the sound of 2 strokes isnt that appealing for this type of plane.

LDM -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (7/3/2007 1:09:46 AM)

I hope they have a FW 190 , I love that plane

Looks like retracts are not included. So you'll have to add $250+ to above price.

True but well worth it still.

The retracts are NOT included with the Top Flite B-25 either. So, on top of the $649 for that one, you gotta add another $349 for the correct scale gear: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRYP7&P=7
Right there, you've got $1000 in plane and retracts alone with no mention of motors(x2), electronics, etc.

Now, the H9 is $399 plus roughly $250 for air tri gear. Hmmm looks like $650 compared to $1000. Of course, the TF one is bigger and reports are it has a fiberglass fuse......I still think I'll go with the H9 one. If it ever receives damage, it'll be easier to fix. And the small non-scale looking areas can be fixed rather easily.

wildswan -> RE: New Hangar 9 B-25 (7/9/2007 6:38:23 PM)

Hopefully been told that it will be in my local hobby shop here in the UK end of August. Even with my 10% discount it will cost £310 (about 600bucks).
