Was wondering what one of the Jeep type vehicle's were like. They sent me one by misstake and so I told the shipper I would just pay for it and keep it.Then reordered my second 1/12 scale Panzer and got it today. The Jeep has about the same crummy control as the Panzer, but wanted it just for the body because I planned on up-grading it anyway.I like the airsoft gun on it though. It kind of looks like the old style 40 MM antiaircraft guns they used on ships during world war II.It sells for $42.00 dollars so I didn't expect it to have a super control. The gun shoots,it rotates with the control but has to be moved up and down manually.I will be changing that to power for up and down elevation.Posting a few pictures of the Jeep and the second Panzer I just got.Still trying to complete the up-grade on the 1/12 Panzer on the main forum.Getting closer to being done, waiting for the last parts from MATO.

whats coming from mato?

2 gear box sets,2 speakers,2 gun elevation motors,2 gun traverse motors,1 radio, and a couple of crystals. The bad news is they are out of stock in gear motors,so they say first part of july before I get my parts.Wish they would send what they do have instead of waiting for it all, didn't need the motor gear boxs right away.OH WELL-------

Well the jeep is done as far as it goes at this point. It did not get done exactly like I would have liked.Made several big improvements on it though. One of the big draw-backs is it takes two radios to operate everything on the tank.I used a two chanel radio out of a boat that was just setting on the shelf, and i needed a four chanel radio.(I have five four chanel radio's but they are all in working airplanes) and I just couldn't take them out of my planes to put in this jeep, and I didn't want to buy another radio. So I used what I had.
The steering was the biggest improvment. The steering that came on the tank was a geared motor that was used to steer this thing.Didn't work for beans, only turned a few degrees.Took it out and a standard servo with a little cutting, fit just like it was made for it.Steer's just like a regular car now.The second thing was a servo acttivated speed controller out of my boat.It was not realy designed to work with the size motor this jeep has.Don't know what its rated at,but it is two or three times bigger than a standard motor in a HL tank.So I have about two speeds on the motor, this jeep moves along fairly fast.Good forward and reverse now with this set-up.
You can see on the pictures I'll post that I cut out a notch in the right side of the jeep just behind the door so there would be clearance for the gunner's leg and boot when the gun swings. The original swing on the gun was only about 15 degrees, now it will swing about 120 degrees. There was two little tabs that had to be removed to allow the gun to swing past the original 15 degrees. When I removed the turret i just ground them off with the dremel. The gun on this jeep shoots good,it has a lot of power.I also got rid of the ugly red light covers that they had for headlights. The whole front bumper was changed from the original way it arrived to me.
the original radio is still needed to move and fire the gun. This will be eliminated down the road by using a four chanel radio and two more servo's.The good part is everthing else will stay the same and will not have to be remodified.Mabe two hours to complete the addition of the two servo's and changing out the receiver. It was fun redoing it and it only cost $42.00 for the Jeep and about $16.00 dollars shipping. It is about the same size as my 1/12 panzers, but slightly taller.Glad I got it,and is a neat addition to my collection of tanks.See pictures that follow-------Thanks BIGMIG
