I slapped a scale side view drawing of the A6 on the first picture:

Richard: How did you cowl the Me 109? You have a thread on the VQ P-40 with a nice example how to stiffen the cowling screws with nylon/brass tubes. Any suggestion how to do that on the 109?

I haven't gotten to that stage yet. I will probably drill and tap maple blocks for nylon mounting bolts, and then glue those blocks to the inside of the fuse at the cowl mounting points.

Richard: That is one awesome work. Did you use AutoCad?

Haven't seen the planview yet. Wings? Think I can easily live and fly with the YT adjustments.

Richard: Thanks for the advice on the cowl blocks in the 109!

The vertical fin is all wrong, the gun blisters are wrong they should be flat & not angled,

The vertical fin doesn't look that bad to me. As for the gun blisters, it depends on which version of the 190 you are talking about. Here is a picture showing the gun blisters on the A7 (and also A8):

Nope. I just scanned in the side view from one of my books and used Photoshop to scale and rotate it to the correct angle. I will slap on the side view of the A8, which has bulges on the gun hood, later this evening.

Richard:

Congrats for your effort!. It is now quite clear (if they don't questionate Squadron Signal 3-views, of course!) that although not 100% scale outline this Focke is correct on a good 85-90% and that the model reproduced by KMP/YT is an A8 with bulged armament panel plus a section added in front of the wing giving that "long nose" aspect.

For sure I will ask the Spanish distributor to put me on the waiting list as I rather and well prefer a RTF like this than a superb and complex ownbuilt "Hangar Queen". RC planes are for flying!. And after all, sure price won't be astronomically higher than undersized unbuilt balsa models found in the market today.

Best Regards,

Jesus Cardin

I think I said this before somewhere but add about 10" more wingspan and then we would really have something. KMP needs to add that much more size to all of their planes and then watch out, the money will be fly'in.

Agreed. The area that I really have a problem with is the curve just in front of the vertical fin, as pointed to by the red arrows in the picture below:

here is the yt picture with the 3-veiw drawing available with the kagero range of book. I have both the squadron and the kagero and i personally believe that the kagero books are far superior to the sqadron books in terns of quality, content.

Now the pic supplied of the new Fw isn't exactly square on which will affect the overall length of the model, but not the shape......

as the arrows highlight, the rear of the model has this "upwards" sweep, or as perviously explained heated and melted up, kind of look...

thanks

Yes there are are a few "Scale" modifications. To my eye it look about 1000% better than the CMP bird. The canopy on the CMP buggs me to the point of not getting one.

Is there a reease date for this bird yet? I need to start saving my pennies.

Don't know how everyone else feels about the "Tail Wheel",but it's crappy looking to me...I changed mine on the KMP 109..a Picture of it is included here...needs to be painted .....looks more 'Scale",then the orginial one in the kit......Most of the KMP kits have that tail wheel unit on them..just destroys the scale outline of the plane....Just adding my two cents worth

Yep, the stock tailwheel definitely needs to be replaced.

Since KMP/YT is known for their "scale" warbirds, if this 190 is released as is, then I'm afraid their reputation might be at stake since this bird doesn't quite look "right", IMHO. I feel this bird needs to be redone. Might as well spend the time fixing all the little things wrong with it. Otherwise, it will be a waste of composite materials.

You are right Richard. And there is no comment coming from alanc; in other words the moulds are done already and YT is just waiting until the life circle of the other planes are at their end. A mould easily costs $100,000. No kidding.

thats kind of sad to spend that much on a mould that could have been checked with auto cad and verified there models look so good.
just a couple of tweeks and its perfect.
after reading this dialog I went to check the profile in the plans of my Royal FW190A8 and its prety much right on the $,its still a nice looking ARF,any release date from YT?
