I've had nothing but bad luck with my HB King V2 right out of the box. I'm in the process of sending it back in exchange for another one. I'm sure I just got a lemon. Here's my complaints:

1. Manual is in "Chinglish" and hard to understand.
2. Tail servo push rod doesn't fit through guides very well.
3. Tail servo locked up right out of box.
4. Tail rotor belt is loose so you need to tighten it up.
5. They must not tune and fly the heli at the factory, because it doesn't really fly right out of box. You need to make many adjustments first.

All that being said, I love the heli. It's a beauty! And I know it flies well because so many people rave about the heli. But me being a newbie to CP heli's, it's been frustrating not to be able to fly it. So many problems. I'm sure I just got a lemon.

no geoffrs, you are not alone. There is a lot of modifications to do to this one to get it flyable. well beyond a beginners or novice pilots abilitys. as the demand for these increased the quality took a serious nose dive and the only way to get them working now is to have a good understanding of helicopter mechanics.
Belt adjustment requires modification.... main stock motor requires an upgrade to brushless.......... battery placement is critical to stable flight and as stock is way off. To keep the helis from spinning at hovor speed the rear tail servo needs adjustment as well as removing the push rod from the guides.
Overall, for $165 to the door......ya got what you paid for. When its built up to a decent heli the actual cost is the same as a Blade CP pro or a little more. Not that Eflites products are a true RTF heli either but they can be adjusted and flown stock without modifications, the Esky heli can not. Sounded like a good deal........... really wasn't all that great of a deal. Just my .02

I agree, ArrowNaughtic. I am a newbie...only flew Blade CX2 (coaxial) before this one. It's been frustrating because I want to fly my new heli, but can't. I would have gotten the Blade CP/CP Pro, but read about all the constant repairs. Oh well, I guess I'll learn a lot about heli's through all this.

I have both Blade CP and HBK2. After learning on the Blade CP about setup, I know what to check and adjust on my HBK2. You can fly the Blade out the box, but you need to check a HBK2 before you fly. Not good for a beginner, unless someone shows you how to setup the HBK2. The Blade does need some tweaking though. Mine would fly, but had the left cp servo installed upwards instead of level like the right servo arm. LHS stated they seen this before, so I don't think issues are with anyone brand. Other than that, comparing both brands, I am satisfied with my HBK2.

I'm trying to figure out what all this talk about setting up the HBK ll is about.
My first one was a 1 turn on the link to track the blades.
After that I was making short hops with the training gear.
Now i'm flying it outdoors but no 3 D and i'm still running the brush motor.
I like them so much and find them so easy to fly, I went for 2 more.
The parts from JAG are very cheap but so far I haven't crashed but I have a list of part and some upgrade goodies i'm getting ready to order.
So to me the $165.00 delivered to my door and just about out of the box ready to go is a bargain.
I guess it's what you want out of a heli.
I'm happy just buzzing around doing pattern flying and some steep turns and dives.

Straight out of the box mine was way out of trim. Swashplate needed leveling, flybar paddles needed adjustment, tail rotor bushings needed some lube but once it was trimmed it holds a hover faily well . Probably any new heli out of the box needs to be totally inspected for flight worthiness and I really like the way it flies although I don't do 3-D and haven't crashed it yet. The price was right for a CCPM. I am very satisfied with mine and want to upgrade the gyro to a heading lock.

If you got one that works and you haven't had the headaches posted here and on other forums...then your lucky!
