I have a G23 heli version that I would like to install it into a 1/4 scale. Is this engine different then then airplane version? I don't have the front piece where the prop mounts. Can I get this separate from Horizon?

Thank you.

Good luck--I ask the same question on 3-2-03 and as of now, have not received a single reply..

You can get the parts from Horizon (if they have them in stock).
The number for the hub is ZEN 2359 and the stud is ZEN 2360.

There were two different hubs.. The older one looks like a spool, fits on the end of the crank, and uses a 6mm threaded rod with two nuts to hold the prop on...The newer style is longer and is held on with a stud that is 6mm on the crank end, has a shoulder to hold the hub on, and has an 8mm shaft threaded for the 8mm prop nut..Either one will work on the end of the crank, which is the same...I have a few of the older style hubs..You can have one for postage, but you will have to find a 6mm threaded rod and 2 nuts......

Oldtimer II, mogles
i too have been researching the same thing. I believe you will also need the rear plate unless removing the pull start cover and guts leave you with a suitable mount. Keep me posted.

The chock is a flapper that closes the carp air intake. It has a axle through the carp and usually has a way to close the flap on both sides (top and botton looking at the carb from the front). Some modified Zenoahs have a additional filter gizmo (square plastic black box) around the carb with a lever on top that allows you to closes the air intake for chock.

Yes I understand...... I do not have a black box...But that still does not answer my question or tell me if there is a choke adjustment on it or not. I see the rod and flap. Is this an auto choke? I have researched at Zenoah and Horizon as well many other places and still hit dead ends....

Of course the Carb is going to have a flap door...But is it automatic on the 23's?

On the G-26 I was flying yesterday the choke was right on top of the carb which was the bottom because it was mounted inverted.

Mine does not have that adjustmet on the G-23...So I am baffled.. Surly there is a choke adjustement....

Thanks

Now i am confused. What do you mean by auto choke? Closed door is chocked, open door is not. What would be the auto chocke used for? what would be the chock adjustment for? all gas motor, 3w, da have the same system.

Mo just guessing and thinking out loud...However I think I have it. I guess you put your finger over the hole...Get gas flowing and then release and start....Only thing I can see. i do not see a mechanical choke on or choke off like I do on the G-26....

Oh well off to the field to see how it works again. Maybe this time I will have better luck..

Later & Thanks

There is no difference then the other gas motor. The procedure is this: Zenoah has the fuel pump as an addition. In actuallity you don't need to choke just push the clear bubble until it fills with gass. If you have everything connected properly on the first crank, should start.. or second. If you do not have the clear pump, you have to use the choke. Close the choke and leave it closed. the motor should start and stop. open the choke and your are done. start the motor. You can also close the choke and crank slowly if you still have the pull start. There is no choke adjustments and you have to more or less flood the motor anyway.

I have seen a few folks add a plate that swivels over the mouth of the carb but have never seen a aircraft version of the G23 with a choke plate from the factory, nor have I seen one with a primer bulb. Most folks just stick their finger over the hole and turn the prop over a few times. How bout it rcign, I think you may have seen more of these things than anybody.

So Now I know...Thanks you and all...Happy landings!

I go tomorrow for the CUB flight...I flew a guys at the other field yesterday and it has taken the excitment out of it. But still excited...

He had a G-26 and it was way too much power for the world model 1/4 cub. I have the same one but with a 23...should be just right. He had a 16OZ tank and it ran dry fast had to land dead stick!

Glad I made the rifgt choice on engines!

My G-62 comes tomorroe on my Mr. Mulligan! Now that is going to be a blast! Glad that Fed Ex Home delievers on Saturdays! I went by there today to try to pick it uyp butit was in NJ...so I told then I would be by first thing in the morning befopre they load it up! That way tomorrow night it goes on and I go up Sunday and Monday...if all goes well..........It shopuld..
