I may have posted this elsewhere on this forum, but just in case it's not seen, my comments, so far on the )S 200.

I very recently purchased an OS 200 s pumped engine.

I soon made some comparisons with the )S 120 pumped engine of which I have two.

Now, first thing is that the OS 200 doesn't fit on the OS aluminium mount for a 120, the bolts holes and crankcase dimensions are the same, but the OS 200 is about 3mm longer and the pump housing butts up right on the rear of the engine mount. Oh dear!

The muffler/silencer is quite large; certainly much larger than I thought it would be; no doubt it will be effective.

However, can foresee problems; especially for those (and me!) who will want to use this engine in scale/cowl configaration; particularly in an inverted position mounting. In my opinion, the way the muffler mounts and its size may well prevent it being enclosed by a cowl; unless it's large!

So far, O.S. engines do not provide ANY after market exhaust/muffler/ extensions/pipes for this engine.
None of the current O.S. accessories will fit the OS 200.

Would be interested IF any of current OS 200 owners have found an alternative exhaust mounting option?.

Hi !

I don't want to make any kind of ad here, but the well known rc engine store "JustEngine" in the UK can build any kind of exhaust system to you for a very attractive price compared to what you have put into your OS200. I haven't dealt with them since the death of Paul (founder and owner) but I bet they still provide very good service and support. You can contact them by email, they are quite responsive. Sometimes their welder is on holidays which can make ordering delay a bit longer but it might be worth the wait.

I tach my friend OS-200 with 18X6 APC and it was around 8300 but it was back off at list 300-400 rpm so i guess 8700 is the max rpm for that prop.

So far as I can see, no one has come up with alternatives to the standard OS 200 muffler.

Just Engines, was mentioned by a previous contributor; unfortunately, they have no immediate plans to make anything for this engine.
Problem is the large bore/thread of the manifold on this engine.

I have a "slimline preoducts" OS 120 four stroke inverted style muffler, which I have managed to fit. the OS 200 .
Friend of mine who is handy with a lathe etc, manged to put a screw l thread on the inside of the OS 200 manifold tude which allowed the OS120 thread to fit. So far, successful, though there isn't much thickness left on the manifold between the o/s dia and the insidedia.
Having mentioned "slimeline products", I attempted to email them to see IF they made anything to fit OS 200, knowing they had a big range of after market mufflers etc for just about all engines.

Never had reply, despite sending several times.
Got tehir email address of their website.
Does anyone have another email for them?. Maybe it's changed?>

You mean their custom welding service is no longer available ? Can they no longer build any custom exhaust system now ?

Excerpt from their web site :

http://www.justengines.unseen.org/acatalog/Custom_Manifold_Examples.html

"If the manifold you need to complete your installation is not available off the shelf then we can make one for you.

From simple gas flowed 90 degrees manifolds in 19mm or 22mm tube to complex swan neck manifolds with built in side and down thrust, we have the manufacturing expertise."

No, Just Engines will continue to make custom exhausts plus their stock ones. MY thread does not suggest otherwise.
My contact with them revealed that currently, they DO NOT have the taps and dies and necessary tubing etc to make manifold/s for the OS 200.

IT has a much larger threaded bore manifold than any other four stroke. That is the problem.

Just engines will respond to making for the OS 200 IF and I repeat IF there is sufficient demand; currently it would seem there is not!.

SO COME ON YOU OS 200 OWNERS; IF you are needing a decent IN COWL muffler for ther OS 200 start asking questions of Just Engines and Slim line products.

Hate say it .... just purchase a OS200-P , pump version it is say 6% more power than the standard one .... !!

I want it to use it to my 2meter BEAM pattern plane with 17x12 apc and 20% cool power , after breaking in 1 galon of fuel,

the rpm i get from full thorttle is 6500 rpm only really dissappointed with the performance !!! Don't get it ??!!

Try the 17x10 apc 6500 to 6600 rpm reading !!!!!

Just can get the power out , any advice please !!!!!
