I have a mx400pro and an eflite blade cx2. Now that I have mastered the blade if I buy a rx with the eflite tx work on the mx400. not looking to go inverted just yet. he mx400 has all hitec servos except the futaba digital and a futaba 401 gyro. If it won't work what is the least expensive radio I can get? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you got a right nice MX, mytoyhobby, but no, I don't think the CX radio will work; my recolllection is that the radio that comes with the CX is a 4 or 5 channel, and you need six to drive the MX with a 401 gyro.

Just about any decent TX/RX combo is going to cost $200-250 straight retail, but you may be able to get one for a little less if you shop around. My personal favorite in this range-- I just bought one, in fact --is the Futaba 6EX 2.4 (FASST) radio. Another good one is the Spektrum DX6, but it's a liittle harder to find, and the Futaba is more sophisticated, on paper at least. You may be able to find cheaper radios, but if you do, be careful please-- the MX is a good heli, and every time you fly it you're trusting it to your radio .

if the mx400 pro is ccpm, then in short the answer is no. If it has mechanical mixing however, then you might be able to use it, but you'd have to figure out a way to control the pitch of the blades, I guess you could do that with the rotary knob and have a jerry rigged setup =) but if you did that you couldn't control the gyro remotely

Also I don't know if the cx2 will bond to something like an ar6100 or whatever, but if it will then you are set, if not, then you are in trouble because the stock cx2 4 in 1 will not fit the bill. BTW the stock cx2 tx is 4ch + a rotary knob, so 5 channels total.

btw welcome to RCU!

Thanks, mrasmm-- I forgot about the 400s having a mechanically mixed version, but I just checked the manual, and according to that the Pro is a CCPM bird -- 3 swash + 2 tail + throttle.

Hey all, thanks for the info. I figured it would not work but I have been flying the stuffing out of my cx2. I had a walkera 36 and could hover steady and move left/right/front/back but you know how beginners are during forward flight with a turn flying back to you. I got rid of it and figured I would get used to the controls on a cx2. I even put it in a tail spin and fly it around just to get used to weird stuff. The mx400pro should be here this weekend.

Ha, I have an ESky Lama 3 that I fly the snot out of (at least, as much as it can). I have to be careful with it because it's easy to get too enthusiastic and clack the blades . The 400/450 are a completely different flying experience, but they're still pretty friendly helis if you set them up carefully.
