I noticed that LHM has two size main blades for the corona. The blades used for the Corona 120 are the S2 13x0. but what are the Blades S2 10x5 used for? are they for the corona 117 gas powered Heli? Will they work on the Corona 120, if not please explain why.

The 10-5's are for the 117. If you are using lipos many people use these blades to lower the headspeed without sacraficing so much "climb authority" with a super low pitch on the normal corona blades.

So can I use the S2 10x5 blades on my corona 120 ? I have a brushless motor with lipo batteries, What kind of performance change can I expect if I use the 10x5 in comparison with the 13x0 ?

P.S. is the 10x5 a shorter blade with a more positive pitch, and the 13x0 a longer blade with less pitch ???? is that how it goes with these blades?

Yes, and you will be able to use them without 2-3 dot blade grips. 4-5 dots grips will be better

Thanks Cambo, I will do some experimenting with the S2 10x5 blades, but I'm also working on another project that may take a couple of months of testing and development, 13x0 Aluminum Blades for the Corona 120 If it works out, I'll post it up here, but it will be a while from now.

If you fly at an AMA site thay wont let you use alum. blades, as thay are banned for model use.

I think you will have some trouble flyingflish as aluminum is not as flexable as plastic, fiberglass, or carbon fiber. Remember, the aluminim blades couldn't be to much heavier than the stock blades as the head mite not be able to handle it!

Well We will find out what happens sooner or later, this is all experimental, the aluminum is thin and flexible, and I dont fly at RC club feilds so I'll use the aluminum blades whenever I want, But if they do work, I'm going to store them away as an emergency pair in case blades are no longer available in the future, not for everyday use. my only concern is that maybe having aluminum blades whirling around may cause glitching in the radio, but we will see, I still have a few weeks to go before I'm done with them, but so far their comming out pretty good.

I'm looking for 120 13x0 plastic blades. If that's what you have Cambo, I'll take them. Are they new or used (dinged up a bit)?
I'm out of town till Sunday (7/29). PM me to reserve them. Thanks!
Vipe

Another feature of my aluminum blades is that, although the heli will remain a fixed pitch helicopter, the fixed blade pitch of each blade can be adusted to any pitch angle with a set screw. So if the blades are too heavy to spin at the normal rpm I can increase the blade pitch of each blade to get more lift at a slower head speed. but my plastic blades are 1.3 ounces each and my aluminum blades are 2.0 ounces each, not much more weight. besides I remember the old days when some guys would drill out a penny and screw it to the end of each wooden blade to add weight and stabilize the the helis gyroscopic effect. , That's Old School stuff.........
