Its funny to come back in here after months of being away and still see the same discussions on the same topic. I finished my electric 1/8 scale serpent and now Im working on an electric HPI Racer2. The serpent is ridiculous but by no means a 100MPH car but I feel that with the gearing we'll be running on the Racer, 115 should be no problem.

Nitrohead, keep up the work on that Fusion and let me know if you need help with anything.

By the way gentlemen, Im slightly giving up on the nitro thing beside 3-4 of my car and going gas. On the verge or getting my 3rd gas car and a gas boat (the blackjack) within the next few weeks.

I just finished working on a widget so I can use a 48 tooth spur gear on my Fusion. For my landspeed attemp Fusion I think I am going to have a single speed tranny with a 2.7 final ratio, skinny belts and pulleys and tall narrow foam tires. I have been looking at the gas cars to I am considering switching too seems like the people involved with the gas cars are more mature and don't waste time insulting each other or getting in flame wars.

Serpent King which electric motor are you using in your Serpent and what was its best mph??

It's called backward. But your the experts so carry on. LOL.

No it is not backwards I have several Fusions the one you are refering to is my primary onroad basher so it is not geared like a landspeed attemp vehicle would be. The breaking teeth problem on the spur gears has been taken care of. And I have just finished my adapter so I can use a 48 tooth spur gear for my landspeed attemp Fusion which I am in the process of building right now. This spur gear gives me a 2.7 final ratio.

nitrohead, did the widget work out for you? Have you gotten any runs with the car yet?
