Probably about an 18x8.......Its a good place to start anyway. The Q35 is not a performance engine and you might as well go for easy starting, and smooth operation rather than try for every last RPM.....IMO.

As mentioned, an 18x8 prop is among the acceptable prop sizes for this engine.

One thing that used to cause a lot of grief when the Quadra Q-35 was king was a lack of pitch in the props available in those days. It is easy to forget that these engines turn at roughly 1/2 the rpm of contemporary glow engines. As a result, many models met their demise because of a lack of airspeed. The engine/prop combination just wasn't up to the job.

My suggestion would be to try an 18x10 or 18x12. This will help move the model along a little faster. Don't forget to reset the carb's high speed needle for each prop selection, or you will not be happy with the results. It is a nice engine. Good luck.

I have flown a Bud Nosen Citabria 1/4 scale with a Quadra 35. The props used were a Master 18-6, and a 18-8. I have also used a Zinger wood 18-6/10. This one has variable pitch and runs well as well.

My recommendations, if you want to run a plastic prop, the Master 18-8. For wood, the Zinger 18-6/10.

I am currently flying a Dynaflight Decathalon with a Quadra 35. Using a Master 18-8.

canflynow, i had one of those giant hots. if it's the same plane you really want a 62 . a q-35 is no where near big enough. i had a q-42 in mine and it was a slug. my hots had a 8' wing. what size is yours? hope this helps , ron
