hi guys

my dad used to do CL in the 60's and i was curious as to what it was, i know it consists of a plane tied to a cord but do you spin around in circles with it or what? and also, ahs anyone got any Free plans for a CL trainer?

In th U.K there are two past times. With Control line, You actually have control via the handle and the wires.

Then there is RTP. 'Round The Pole. This is where you attached your plane to a wire that kept the plane in a circle and you stayed outside the circle. This method (from my understanding) is done with both free flight models (free but for the tether) and also using a control method which I am not familiar with, that is like control lne.

wow, good point, suppose then you dont need to charge any RX batteries or anything...

anyone know where i can get some free plans for a CL trainer?

You can just mount an .049 on a round piece of cardboard (like from a frozen pizza) and hinge the back 1" or so. Reinforce the crank mount with some 1/16" ply. Masking tape the edges and dope it.

Cheap, virtually crash proof, and it'll actually fly fairly well.
