smaller prop will wake it up but try raising the drive so less prop in the water and see what happens .

he could also do a back cut on the 280 and that will wake it up a bit maybe.

Hi all, Its been a while, but while i was away a X470 and a WT257 arrived in the mail. No testing this time home, but i will get to sharpen and balance the prop for next time. I also have to do a bit of repair work on the nose when i hit the limestone wall (don't want water getting into the ply) First I will try the X470 with the old carb, I am sure it will wake up with a smaller and lower pitch prop. It's the young blokes 8th birthday this weekend so can't play with the boat much. Will keep you informed.

Hi mate what carb does it have at the moment? you wont see any diff between the 644 and the 257 in my opinion.Tha x470 will def wake the motor up im sure,as for the carb depends what carb you have on it now,but from what ive been told the 644 and 257 carbs are basicly very similar apart from the 644 has a choke.

The reason Steve got the 257 is because the current carby (a 644 copy with mods) he got with the clone zen, doesnt seem to be running right. Better value buying the 257 than replacing the 644 copy with a true 644.

The 257 has no primer or choke and doesnt need the spit tube either.

If its not running right then he might as well change it now before he runs it? ,my worry is its not the carb thats the problem but the motor itself.hope not but it is a copy not a true zen, hopefully he can get it running but ive not seen or heard of anyone running this motor before have you?.

I will try the prop(X470) with the coppy(modded) carb(644) first. If it wakes up the motor, i will then put on the 257, and see if there is any differance. It's no good doing both at once because you wont know what fixed it, prop or carb.

Hi all, it's been a while, the X470 is all balanced up, the dings in the paint have been all touched up, all i have to do is charge the batts and see how it goes, will have a update in the next day or 2.

Well I had it out again today, and boy that motor can rev now with the WT257 on it. 59.2kph at about 2/3 throttle, the big problem now is to try and stop it from trying to do a barrel roll. I also smacked head first into one of the markers in the pond (the yaught guyes put them out) you should have seen the poly fly lol. but it did a fair bit of damage to the boat, cracked the hull on the RHS(pic) a
