quick question. Are you going to describe the painting process? Just curious as to how you go about putting a smooth finish on wood boats.

ByronRC, with the last boat I sprayed it with a few coats of automotive primer, sanded smooth with 240 grit paper, then another full coat of primer sanded with 400 grit paper, sprayed the gloss enamel (i think i put on about 5 thin coats) sand with 1200 grit paper and then spray with automotive clear coat. It turned out good and its not falling off yet.

Steve, an AM radio is usually fine with nitro motors, but Am radios are more prone to interference than FM radios especially in a gas boat. Just be careful til you're sure it's working ok. My boat is a Zenoah, but the best prop I've used so far is an ABC 3014. You could also try an Octura X470/3 or X482. Doug

Has anyone got a drawing of a coil relocater bracket?. I need to move the coil so it's not hitting the engine rail.

Byron before you paint anything you first need to coat the hull with epoxy (slow set 3 hour stuff) ,i use an old credit card or similar to spread a thin coat over the outside let it dry then repeat a cpl more times. Then sand smooth, then i primed with filler primer which fills any small imperfections and its great stuff. On the inside you can use a brush to coat with epoxy.Use car spray paints and primers,i used tetrosyl which is cheap and works very well ,once you have given it 3 coats of the filler primer it will be smooth as can be then lightly sand it and spray your gloss ,usually 2 to 3 coats is good. Then apply decals if using and spray over the top with cpl coats of clear coat and make sure its the same make as the paint thats it job done.

Got the clutch and mounts on today. How much of a angle can you run these motors on?. Tomorrow it's back to shaping and glassing the inside of the hull. Here are some pics.
