ORIGINAL: STR33T_RAC3R You might want to look at Team Magic cars. The 4-tec isn''t fast at all. It's just geared for high speed, it is also very slow around corners. frazer look at the Kyosho 1/8th scales You bash 4tec's a lot.. "it's not fast it's just geared for high speeds" <--that comment is a paradox, saying the 4tec is not fast is showing ignorance towards them. In a straight line it will beat most RTR's. For the price you pay it's not a bad deal for a basher. the TRX motor is a beast for the price, you can't deny that .. 2 things I don't like about the 4tec. 1) Brakes, 2) Handling. However with an competent driver and the right parts and tuning it can be very manageable. you can't expect to win world championships out of the box. My analogy: Out of all my cars I say this. My 4tec is like a mustang. Cheap fast power. Likes to go str8. This is the street racer TC3 w/ Mugen Turbo .12: This is my "Sport car" this car handles and brakes like a dream, revs high and makes some decent power. Loves the track, I won't bash it. TC4: This is my nissan/honda/toyota .. I like to think it's fast, but it's slow and fun to drive (my drifter) ---------- The original poster, If I were you I would check to see what your local shop carries first and go from there. Pretty much all of the cars nowadays are really well designed, some have some perks others don't and once you start researching you can run yourself in circles "this car has this but not that, that car has that but not this" Just get in, get a car, if it is your first car you'll probably break something..within the first week haha but atleast you won't have to wait forever to get parts in Just keep it fun man and good luck
