Can we at least get a 'completed' picture? Ya know, with the motor mounted properly, pipe in place...since it is ready to run and you're waiting on the weather.

so u have a bunch of extra uneeded weight whats ur point???

either way YES IT WHEN DOWN LAST NIGHT i got good news and band news about the whole even

Good News: the car ran awsome this thing was hauling ass the tranny swtiched perfect(a little early but i can adjust that) and the thing stayed in a perfect str8 line the wing in the frotn realy helped it didnt blow over not once a good friend of mine was there with his 4 week old stock jato and we did a little drag race, so one claimed there was only gonig to be a 5 MPH diffrence WRONG the stock jato looked like it was running backwards my jato BLEW THAT STOCKER out of the water and the 3.3 never even came close im realyl impressed becuase this is the first time i build one of these with this offroad ninja this motor is sick stuff

Bad News : i left the camera at the house so i dont got a video but i got to run the car, some other bad news is the car is WAY WAY UNDER GEARED yesturday i started with 24/40 gearing next week ima step it up to 25/38.......im actually worried becuase i know that this is the tallest gearing ill be able to run becuase of the tranny not letting me mesh UNLESS i lift the engine but it i do that how will i bump start it??? unless i cut a huge hole in my chassis i kinda scratching my head about that, also GOD SPEKTRUM SUCKS the range on the spektrum is only about 250 feet and after that my fail safe would just kick in GOD IT PIST ME OFF i actually found a way to modify it with a WIFI anttenna and a internal wire that should give me 1,500 feet range all my top speed cars run off FM75 MHZ but i didnt have another FM reciver so i had to go with spektrum my WIFI anttenna should be here today

actually im ue the offroad version of that motor

http://ninja-engine.com/content/eng_home.php?lang=0&engID=1

my friend had the onroad version in a jato and honestly it wasnt that fast it was quick but lacked tourqe to push the tranny correctly thats why i when with the offroad version

also im actually VERY VERY luck when i got home i relized i never straped down the battery pack the battery was only held inplace becuase of the pressure between the motor mount and radio tray

PS i will be posting pics in a few minuets

here is some pics of how it was tested last night

also to the guy that sayed the car act funny at high speed beuase of thw wing in the front U HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD!!! when it topped out the car would wiggle around a little so im cut off some of the wing next time i run it, ALSO dam the wing was really pushing air u when it would pass be it sounded like a dam turnade passing threw it was funny

if u notice i alway had to change the stock linkage since the stock linkage wouldnt even open the carb on my motor more than half way

the rear wheel where fine but since at the last minut i cut the zip ties that kept the car lower when the rear sat up the rear camber wehn out of wack

i see u asking about the ratio do u know how to caculate final gear ratios???

well like i started yesturday i ran 24 on the clutch bell 40 on the spur ALSO take note that the stock jato 3.3 useing 0.8 teeth mesh and im useing 1.0

i rember i had a custom machined 26 tooth pinion gear and will use that with a 38 tooth spur gear

the internal gear ratio is 1st gear 9.77:1 and second and final gear is 7.29:1 and my tires are 5 inches tall..............if u can do the math please let me know

PS i just PMed someone i know that knows how to caculate gear ratios ill give u guys and anwser as soon as i get one

Here you go miami

http://www.traxxas.com/support/index.php?action=artikel&cat=91&id=281

Your right about your ratios i tried a 4.2 ratio and my car hardly moved off the line. You need to work out the pitch also of your teeth. But your pretty close to right about the ratios for the tranny.

Miamiz...the internal ratio your giving me there is not right. The ratio will be the same regardless of 1st or 2nd.Is the car shaft or belt?If shaft i need the size of the crownwheel and pinion and if belt i need the size of the pulley connected to the spurs and the size of the differential pulley.
