Aerobird-3 amazing crash recorded on video: http://www.rcuvideos.com/item/FVX86NFW7N6420TB

Onboard camera and surface camera recorded the same dramatic event of avoiding mid-air collision with deadly for Aerobird-3 result.

Unique footage ...

Yeah, I personally would have cut to the parts of the crash. Don't you love crash video's (except when it is your bird being busted up ) Where did you shoot it (looks like a part but not shure) Big question (because I didn't watch the video all the way through) how did the plane survive... Cool plane with the v tail... Could you edit it down (not to hard) as I would love to see the crash (my thoughts) mini T

I love the line

how deadly was it for the aerobird 3 (grounded for life, repairable or good for radio, motors, cammera and servos) Would love to see just the crashing (and aftermath) scenes in slomo (the way to catch all the action). Just my thoughts on it.

I liked the inplane shot of the freeway, buildings... Cool and all. How much did the crash destroy the airplane as it must have been a bad crash???

Where is the "external view of plane in death spiral". You can also watch the video here (crash is about 3 min. in) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4576812066706242891&q=aerobird+3+crashing&total=2&start=0&num=100&so=0&type=search&plindex=0 I want to see some post pics of the plane. Also, how high did you have to be to almost hit the plane that I didn't see in the vidoeo????? Cool shot though of where the plane took off and landed

Where was the "boeing plane" anyway. Still was a bit scary with the plane in the death spiral into the trees. How high up did it land in the tree (looked prety high). Shure hope it can still fly

Given how small the boeing plane was, there was no way an aerobird would have been visible on camera if it had been that high. You were less than half that high. It's nice to be cautious, but looking at the video, it's hard to see how it's a near miss. Why didn't you pull out before ground contact?

In my estimation airplain crashed in 410m from take off.

I have been watching it before wings collapsed at 45 degree angle.

Look like it was at 410m altitude and about 580m direct line from the pilot.

Boeing-737 was approacing Toronto airport at about 1200m altitude and it was quite safe for Boeing.

At the same time when you airplaine is almost lost from observation due to 580m distance it seems that it is higher ...:-)

The panic cause me to to very sharp virage with down slop, which at the end was too much for very thin Aerobird-3 wing and one side folded ...

The rest was free fall accelerated at the beginning with the motor running at full trottle, which wasn't switched off immediatly due to pilot shock ...:-)

=====================================

My plan for the next week is set tiny GYRO and stabilize plane for even better video shooting.

More exiting videos to come :-)

=====================================

Some more video cam to consider for on board application:

Ah, makes more sense now. Those thin aerobird wings won't hold up to much abuse, esp from a plane with extra weight on it. Get some carbon on those wings to avoid a repeat.

Yes, carbon rod already glued into wing after spectacular crush.

I am adding aelirons nowl to control them by tiny gyro.

Thanks.

That was a great crash video. One of the greatest things about FPV is that the crash footage survives Heck, if you are going to crash it, might as well have a cool video when its all over !

You were not even close to the full scale airplanes height, but it made for a really neat video for many to watch
