Anyone,

Been doing a bit of flying with my v2 (1st T-Rex). I've got a little over 50 flights on it and have noticed an issue after tweaking throttle curves.
My normal mode is set at 0, INH, 85, INH, 95 and my IDle up 1 97, INH, 87, INH 97. When I fly in Idle up the heli will shudder at just above hover. The motor seems to be between thottle steps if that makes sense. If I feed in a little more throttle/pitch the rpm comes up and the shuddering goes away. If I reduce the throttle/pitch I go through this same shuddering zone. I'm using the stock v2 BLX 35. No crashes, no other problems.. Is this a common problem with Align ESC's??

Thanks!!

-Eric

No it's not common. If you are running in governor mode you are pushing the ESC too hard. Finless has a video for setting up the Align ESC I believe but here is a quick and dirty run down.

If you are running in governor mode and you can't acheive the head speed you want in 75% or LESS then you are not geared right. You need a bigger pinion on your motor. I was running 75% flat in normal mode and 80% in idle up with my Align ESC, 430XL and a 12tooth pinion on wood blades.

Thanks for the reply! I'm using the default settings on the ESC. No governor mode and I'm running 85% at 0 pitch in normal and 87% in idle up. I just ran a test for laughs where I removed the main blades and spooled it up on the bench (landing gear clamped to the bench). No shuddering in normal but a VERY pronounced shudder from the motor just past zero pitch in Idle Up. In normal if I bump the throttle curve from 0%-INH-85%-INH-90% to 0%-INH-85%-INH-100% I get the same shuddering past 0 pitch (though not exactly in the same spot as when I'm in Idle Up). Strange.. It feels like I'm between "steps" in the throttle if that makes sense.

Sorry, one other thing.. I'm running the 430XL with a 13 tooth pinion on the stock 325 pro woods
