Can someone recomend a charger for the Tracker III NiCD battery? I bought mine used and it did not come with a charger. I have a HobbyZone supercub plane I am upgrading. I have a DC peak charger that came with the Cub that charges my NiMH battery. Its adjustable from .30A - 1.2A. Will this work for the TX battery? If not where can I find a replacement battery. There is nothing listed on their site for a spare charger for it...

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

(Looking forward to using this spiffy looking radio!)

The Polk TX's charge port is wired the same way Futaba's are, but it appears that the connector is closer in size to a JR charge port.

You can probably charge the Nicad as if it were a Nimh, and I've done that with some other chargers I have, but I can't say for sure it will work. It's possible that the charger will cut out early and "false peak". Also, make sure the charger is ok to charge 8 cells.

Yeah - its good to charge 8 cells. Well the wall charger is. Not the DC peack charger.

Thanks for the info... This is great news... Now I can spend that money on other electronics for the plane!

bigdarylg - I have been looking at that charger and its pretty nice. I am trying to get away with using my stock NiMH batteries for the plane. Eventually I will go LiPo and thats when I will by a charger. I was hoping I didnt have to buy a new charger NOW before I upgraded to batteries. I would rather buy it when I change to Lipo's. Thats why I was hoping to use my existing NiMH chargers.

How do you like the MKII. I read a post where people are using AC-DC wall plugs and soldering on Cig Adaptor Female ends so they can use their peak chargers at the house... Specifically the MKII

one of the best purchases i,ve made, have had no problems with it.i have a cig adapt. with soldered electrical blade terminals on the wires which i clip my aligator clips from the charger to.i have a portable car starter that has 2 female cig. outlets on it that i then plug my charger into for use at the field instead of using my car battery.
