Just got back into rc and got a revo thats already modified but am going to race St's now (just got a losi AD2) as well as possibly buying another electric down the road in the form of a rock crawler.

I was trying to get some help in figuring out if i should buy a nice high end charger I can use like a field charger to charge starter box batteries, glow starter batteries and rx etc. for my nitro vehicles or if there is a good nitro field charger that can do all of those now and just wait and buy a nice "electric car" charger down the road?

Running just nimh and nicad right now, but might get to lipo by next year if I get that rock crawler or sooner if I try a Rx lipo.
Also the starter box might get a gell cell, it all just depends on the charger or chargers I end up getting. Ive had rc's for a while but have never tried to race until now so some experience minded people could really help me out here.

Thank you for any and all help.

Look at the e-Station BC-6 charger. Will do all chemistries, AC powered as well as DC powered, and has a 6 cell balancer for when you get into lipo's.

If you don't care for the balancer, the e-Station 301DX is a great inexpensive charger. Check out the RC Car review in the UK.

sry I meant the multiplex 5014 not hitec since they seemed about the same price.

Around the lhs people talk about the ice but the one already recomended and the 5014 seem to be cheaper and just as good for nitro at least. Its just when researching that the bantoms and 989's and tritons and everything else led to me make another one of those I'm confused threads, although I thought it appropriate only in that I asked for help for my specific situation.

The LN-5014 and the 301DX are similiar.

The 301DX has a temp probe option. It also has other safety features such as time, temp, and capacity cut off, adjustabale backlit display, and for the lithium programming, you set it for the charge rate you want. The 5014 you tell the charger the capacity of the pack and the charger sets the charge rate at C1. You cannot charge faster or slower. The 301DX has a much higher capacity limit, 9999mah while the 5014 is limited to 5000 mah.

Multiplex does not actually make the charger, SJPropo does. That same charger is also known as the Swallow and X-Peak3. Bantam manufacturers their own chargers and the 301DX is upgradable should an upgrade be released by Bantam.

Take a look at the 301DX manual if you like.

Didnt put the names together until now, but the conversion boards I seein your stor can only be used with the higher model chargers and not the 301dx?

Does it not come with a way to Rx or Tx packs, or even Old school Tamiya or deans plugs?

The conversion boards are for the chargers that have a built in balancer. The 301DX, like the Multiplex do not have a built in balancer. The balancer is only used for Lithium cells.

These chargers, like the Multiplex use standard banana plug charge cables and are not included with the charger as there are many types of battery connectors in use.

Do you sell any sort of adaptor so that the banana plugs can be used with different types of connectors or do I just have to weld one kind and weld other adapters to fit it?
