Did you use the supplied throttle pushrod or use something else?

So far this thing is going together pretty easy....

Status: offline 		Hey Crash Pro. I went ahead and used the stock throttle pushrod. Yes it is an easy build. Did you have to shim your retracts to get them to fully tuck into the fuse? I needed 2 washers under the rear of the right hand retract and 2 more under the front of the nose gear retract to fully hide into the fuse. The left hand main was fine as is. This required a little longer wood screw for the retracts so I went ahead and installed blind nuts and machine screws. Since the mounts are pretty well accessible it was easy, especially the nose mount. Let me know how yours balances out with the Jett 90. I did not have to add any weight at all to balance. I'm not sure how the Jett 90 compares in weight to the O.S. 91 with Ultrathrust muffler. I do know that the Ultrathrust is considerably lighter in weight to the stock O.S. muffler.

I won't know how the retracts are gonna work out until I get the air tank. ( Retract air tank was missing when I opened the box ).. Graves R/C said they expect it the end of this week and they will overnight it to me. Thats great you didn't have to add any weight to balance.
Engine will be mounted tomorrow. Except for the air tank..I think it will be ready to go by this weekend.

Status: offline 		Het Crash, looks real nice just like mine!! LOL. You can cycle the gear withiut the tank just by using a small allen wrench or the like and getting under the retract mechanism and applying small force to start the piston up. This will allow you to dry cycle the retracts before you apply air and see if everything is going to line up properly. Let us know how the maiden goes. Good luck.

Status: online 		what I have also done in the past is hook up a short piece of air hose to each retract and
just used a ball pump to get them to cycle. 1 at a time of course.

I've never even SEEN one before,...and HOLY SHAT!!! ...What a difference between my O.S. and Magnum .90's!! WOW!! It was almost scary.....HA...this thing is gonna rip...

I wish the air tank had shown up this week, I could fly this thing tomorrow if I had an air tank for the retracts. Oh well,....I'll take it to the field tomorrow anyway for show and tell..

I had to shim my retracts exactly the same way to get them to tuck into the fuse. My air cannister shipped friday, so I should get it in the next couple days. I'll probably have one of the more experienced pilots do the maiden flight Sunday, so I can video the flight.
I'll post the video here.

Status: offline 		Sounds great Crash. I flew 7 more flights this Sunday with my F-18 and all went well. The canopy mod worked really well except now the front of the canopy is wobbly. The hatch mechanism is a great idea but there is just too much vibration on the front of my plane. The holes wallowed out. I secured the front the same way I did the back and all is good. I had 4 deadsticks at the field that I troublesot back to loose head bolts. After tightening them up all was well and the last 3 flights were great. What kind of rpm's are you getting out of the Jett Crash and with what prop? I am getting around 12,500 with a 13x8 and the Ultrathrust muffler. I know this because we tacked it with 2 different tachs at the field because we thought it was over revving and thus flaming out. Not the case but it was nice to know what rpms I was getting with this combo. I know I am not lean because I see a nice thin line of blue smoke trailing behind and it idles down real nice. Maybe I can get one of my buddies to make a video and I will post a short vid. Good luck on your maiden this weekend.

Status: offline 		Air cannister showed up today, just need to balance it now.
I noticed Sunday while running the engine that the canopy was loose and vibrating, ( like virtualvictum pointed out) I found a quick and easy way to fix that problem was to just stick a few pieces of wing saddle tape to the fuselage under the canopy. Its now nice and tight, no movement at all.
