Status: offline 		I see Terrence now has the "2 Sweet/Small Wonder" and Jimmy Allens' "Proud Bird" Quarter 40's on his website.

Nice to see other offerings, but when are we going to see the "Endeavor"????

Is there a listing of current Q 40 Kits. I am referring to the Glass Fuse, built up wing versions as opposed to the composites, I assume some are available.

What are the steps one needs to take if you want to make your own plane, is there a web link to the process?

Since my post I found Pylon World with a list of Q40 planes.

Has anyone had experience with the Swee Pea (V tail Q40). Is this new or old, cannot tell from web site.

Status: offline 		It is an old design. Duane Gall was flying one a couple years ago, I don't think I've seen another at a contest in the recent past.

As to competitive designs, there are alot of them out there right now. IN NO SPECIFIC Order, here is a mini list of what I feel is currently competitive:

H&M Racing Miss Candace
Larson ProudBird 2
Larson Vendetta
Allen Proudbird
Small 2 Sweet
Big Bruce Loki
Big Bruce PoleKat
Rusty Ashly

And, I probably left someone out, if so, I'm sure someone will correct. I have flown all but the Candace and Larson PB2. All nice flying planes, with different pro / cons for each.

My current favorite is the Loki, although radio installation is tight.

The Swee' Pea was designed by Jerry Small. It is not very scale in appearance. I have the molds for the fuselage. I also have the wing molds that were made for it. And I made new tail molds. I have not flown one. It is not like the current planes that can be painted in the mold like the Polecat or Loki.

I currently have one Swee' Pea fuselage on hand. But no wing cores. Or composite wings.

I'm working on updating PylonWorld.com with all of the latest and currently produced kits. Should be done in a week or two.

I also have the molds for the Stinger. I'm having to sand and polish them. I hope to get them back in service as I have people wanting kits.

I've never flown one, but have seen several that have been more than competitive. Randy did at least one 1:01 with his in Florida this spring, and Chris Callow had a nice run at the Nats with one, so they are definately competitive speed wise. I have no idea on the flying characteristics though.

I had one on order this spring, but my move caused me to cancel the order. For no reason other than money being tight.

After Phoenix you are going to ad a new plane to your list. Its name is eXtasis (Miss B Haven), Jim Allen just gave me the approval for the plane.

The plane comes out from the mold white; the molds are standard made with epoxy resins with charge of aluminum. All the front and part of the belly it has a reinforcement of carbon fiber K3 for the LS. The wing is hollow (composite) with a beam reinforcement of carbon all the way.
The airfoil is the MH24.

I have had the chance to see this plane flying in the last Q40 competitions here in México breaking all the time records from last years, stablished by Polecats and Lokis (In Mexico Q40 Pylon races) it is really an amazing plane with great flying characteristics and world class construction.

There will be several flying at next February 2008 Phoenix Classic and I assume many more on following competitions.
