What I am saying is if the plane is tail heavy, the plane will not nose over. If you ever flown a tail heavy plane you would know what I am talking about. If you did get it into the air you will have a very short flight!! Like I said in my post, this is the setup I have on my Revolver and my setup may not work for everyone, but I love this plane and the way it fly. Now to get the local cop to stop by our field this weekend and get more speed check!!!

Status: offline 		My battery is as far back in the fuselage as possible. There's a bulkhead back there where the push-rod sleeves are held. Right in front of that bulkhead. Velcro-ed to the bottom of the plane.

Status: offline 		I've used the "SEARCH THIS FORUM" bar a few times now and can't find pictures of how people rebuilt/reinforced their landing gear. Pics anyone? Page number?

I'm surprised this forum is still alive and well. I haven't posted or kept up for a while but here's my update:

I've now owned this thing for about two years. I used the Dubro gear for quite a while but didn't like them as they make it difficult to not have a bouncy landing (due to wheels being forward of the CG). I switched back to stock gear and have flown that way off and on a grass runway all summer. Beautiful landings w/ the stock gear! Love it.

Last weekend after a beautiful landing I was simply taxiing back to myself and the gear just pulled right out of the fuse. It must have been close to finally giving out. Hence, my question above. The fiberglass is still in perfect shape, it just pulled the whole wood block right out of the frame. Luckily I was going slow enough that the wheel pants didn't do anything to the wings.

I love the OS 91 FX in this plane. A 12.5x10 or 13x9 has been my props of choice. I've radar'd both and get the same numbers. 118-120 straight and level, 140 in dives. I can't break 140 for the life of me! Actually I'm just too afraid to make a steeper dive.

Great plane though, lots of fun!

Status: offline 		This is how I reinforced my landing gear. Just used an aluninum plate that spanned across both sides of the gear and longer screws. The plate helps disribute the load across the entire mounting surface.

Status: offline 		Looks awsome! It appears they have changed the landing gear to a non swept angle. Good looking. Wonder if they have changed the landing gear support. Most of us have had to reinforce the gear INSIDE the fuse. Done right, works great on the little brother.

At 9# wonder how big a 4 stroke you can go. If some pilots have been using 100 fs on the boy, does anyone think we can put in a 1.20 or 1.50FS in this bird. At 70", one would think so. Anyone?

I added 2 oz of lead to the tail of the little boy & does it make a difference on the ground. No noze overs. And for some reason, the CG seems to be the same in the air. It only moved 1/4" static. Am I loosing it?

Thanks 150flyer (I've already done that) but I was talking about inside the fuse. My gear and everything they bolt to came off as one piece. I was hoping for pictures of a stripped down Revolver to see what people have done inside as lippucci mentioned. I know there's already pics on here somewhere, I just couldn't find them.

Go to page 62, post# 1527 by Beaver180. Nice clean modification of the landing gear support. Mine is similar with more 1/2" triangle hard wood supports. No problems with a lot of cross wind landings..yet! Takes some time but well worth it.

115 has already been done on the small one. if I break my revolver, the Jett 90 will be going straight into this new bird. Shame about the covering job though.

Fixed my gear. Flew Saturday and it worked great as expected. Basically I simply screwed and epoxied something in there for the front of the gear mount to also screw into since that's where all the force (under tension) is transfered to when cruising the grass. See pics. I sunk the screw heads in the mount plate a little so they wouldn't interfer with the gear bolting on.

Love this plane still - even after two years. My only complaint is that I have to apply more up elevator when inverted than I do with some of my other planes.

Do I see you are using a .91 2 stroke? Yikes! No wonder you must use elevator inverted. All that weight & power! Did you ever check the CG? Any weight added to the tail? Prop size? Good luck.

That's probably what happened was the more weight made it more nose heavy than I'm used to flying it. But I had to add down elevator on the last flight... hmm... Will check. Either way, love the plane.

Status: offline 		Holy speed of light Batman! You must be doing 150 mph level. Prop size? Being a little noze heavy, do you get many noze overs with the stock gear? Got a video?

Prop size is 12.5x10. I found that between it and the 13x9 performance is about identical but landing is quicker with the bigger pitched prop.

Yes, it's fast. Very fast. We radar'd it a few times back when I ran 20% nitro and it was 118-120 level. If I dived even a little (though I don't dare dive it much) it was 140.

Now that I've switched to 30%, it's noticably faster with better verticle pull but we haven't radar'd it yet. So maybe I'm getting 150 in a dive, probably 125 level flight. Just guessing here. I like speed!

Here's my buddy's electric Revolver (12s). He just had to beat me. 160mph but his plane weighs ten pounds and mine weighs 7.5???

The last video I've taken of mine was back when I had a Saito 82 in it last summer, seems like I got a 140 with it as well but level flight was 115 average.
