I currently have a G-62 in it, as the 3W 106 is in for a check-up and possible ignition replacement.

The 106 will go back in for sure.

The G-62 is ENOUGH , but not enough for spirited aerobatics. Stall turns are STALL turns with it. Absolutlely no vertical performance, but enough for Sunday lazy flying for sure.

I want the monster back, so I can get a little more daring with it. Actually , a DA-85 would be PERFECT. I just got one, but it is going on a light scratchbuilt airframe after break-in.

It would be PERFECT for this plane . PERFECT.

I have the 106 so I will use it, and it looks really cool sticking out on each side.

Yeh the 106 twin really looks cool with the heads sticking out. Have you ever ran across any problems with it running hot?or does it stick out just enough to cool it down. As soon as mine arrives next week im going to get a 100 for mine and wondered if while im building it if i should go ahead and baffel it if theres enough room in the cowl to do so.

Well, the plane was brand new. 10 fligths or so. Me beeing stressed, and my wife talking to me ALOT. I fell over my radiocase, and on top of the cub.

I had a new supercub at the shop, i built a new one in less than 10 hours. The day after.

Smått&rått means Small&cool- the name of the Store that i work at.

I have been flying the heck out of mine....blowing a lot of smoke oil through her. G62 on a Bennett Muffler.

The 106 is on the mend. I can really whip this one around with the G-62, now that I have had a little practice.....

It absolutely floats with 25 deg of flap. Flat turns look like horseshoes.....

You know, I thought my 106 was fine without baffling. It never really worked hard, and the heads were fully exposed on top, maybe one fin down.

I thought that cutting the cowl laterally at the middle of the vent holes, all the way back, would be a good two piece cowl solution. Then the baffling becomes easier. I never made it that far, but my 106 is at Cactus now getting checked out.

I ran my 106 with the endpoints set at 70% throttle. It was all it needed, and my curve was soft.

Try the DL without the baffling , making the head holes big. Allow enough relief around the exhaust pipes, Air in ,air out.

BTW, I have been flying the Cub daily, and I lost the 1lb weight on the motor mount , with a little down trim , it flies fine. The 106 really did make this plane nose heavy.

The DL should be spot on.

When the climber was in the tree , a few more planes went over....very very close to the tree he was in.

I am sure the club would love to have it and a few more cut down. LOL.

I just got my 106 back on Tuesday and it will be on it when it flies again.
