Just seconds before my buggy shuts off from being out of gas it revs up real high and the buggy takes off. It seems like it is because the engine leans out because it is sucking air with the last little bit of gas left in the tank. Is this normal? Is there a way to prevent this from occuring? Not sure if it matters but I have the engine adjusted to run a little rich. I have run it through the break in period but I want to put a few tanks through it running rich just to be sure it is completely brocken in and runnning good.

Yes it is normal, the only way that i know to prevent this would be not to run out of gas, but we both know thats hard to do when your having fun. Running on the rich side isnt bad for the motor, you will just foul the glow plugs quicker than normal, but it will help with the motor life. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. It suprised me the first time I ran low on gas because the car was sitting till and it just took off. Now that I know it will happen I am prepared for it and I try to bring it in to refill before I run out of gas. That way I don't have to walk out to get it. Thanks again.
