What is the best\reccomended 3d plane from omp at the moment?
the katana v2.
How goood is it compaired to the other planes (hover, harrier, waterfall, elevators, flatspin, invertedflatspin that make the model rise\gain height, and supertight inverted flatspins, blenders, tork rolls, rolling harriers) That is the manuvers I am refering to when I mean 3d.
So,, what of the plane is actually the best to do this? and if it is NOT the kat v2(40size), how much lesser is the kat?

hope for good answer.

I really like the Kat V2.

I've spent lots of time recently with the Boxxer, and it does really well on the things you mention.

Then, of course, there's the Mojo 40. Truly a classic in the making, and 100% unlimited performance.

Great question! I'd start with the Edge V3 as it is both stable yet very agile in the air and can perform all of the above. The Kat V2s are a little more loose in the air and what I would consider a slight step up for pilot skills. The most advanced planes in my book are the Fusions. Much looser and some folks don't seem to click with the Fusions but others who get used to how they fly really enjoy them. They are capable of both hard core 3D as well as more precise pattern manuevers. The only thing the Fusions really lack is flat spin grace. Inverted they do fine but upright is a struggle due to the longer tail moments. Not a big deal as you just learn to fly around that.

Now if you want to tallk 90 size planes the new 65" Yak is the benchmark for 3D monsters. I would put it a notch above the kat 70s. Available in kit and eventually ARF.

Cambo,

I don’t think OMP Copperhead (CHOMP) will be carrying the Kat V3 our any other TPMpro brokered plane in the future. We have spent the last year focusing on our own design built in our own factory! We will have several new designs out before XMas to choose from. All high quality Ultracote Covered frames (no fading or covering falling off) with first class hardware! Our building techniques differ greatly from the above mentioned. We use quality German Adhesives, thoughtful construction jigging methods and honestly, first class designers!! Stay tuned, there is a lot of great projects coming your way via chomp!!!

Cheers,

I basically an do almost every trick in the book with one of my little foamies. Just want something that feels like a foamy at the field. I have a sk 91 2 stroke spare so the v2 70 looks about what i need.

The kat 70 V2 does fly very light and works very well with a .91 2-strk. If you want to buid a kit the new 65" OMP Yak is the way to go. The new Yak will also be coming out in ARF format probably in 2-3 months.

This first class planes you talk about here...
They seems very interesting IF the flying capabilities is first class too.....
What web site can they be ordered from and what is your website so that I can look at them?

Will you have any raw 3D plane out soon? a plane that is designed only to fly 3D and do that like no other, and all else flying-capabiltyes is put aside?
Cause that is what I am after.... just a super 3D plane.
That will do every of thouse crazy 3D trick better than any other plane..
Is there a such plane comming from you with that super building and controlling that you wrote about before?

A raw 3D plane that is designed to fly nothing but 3D because that's what you are after? Well I think that's what we've been doing here in the profile world for quite some time. The reason behind the profile market is exactly what you are describing Austis. You can go to the OMP website and check out any of the profiles there and I think you will see what you are looking for.

Heck yeah. OMP, and Swany are right at the cutting edge where "3D" planes are concerned. Any of the aforementioned airplanes are awesome in the right hands, but nothing....and I mean nothing tracks, and snaps like a Fusion. Holy Jamoley! Ultimates could take lessons on snaprolling from a Fusion.

With any of these planes you'd be on your way. The only question is.....how "3D" are your thumbs?

I'm looking for a plane that will freestyle...like do pattern and 3D (I'm not an expert pilot). Thats why I've been looking at the Fusion. I did go see the vid for the 65in Yak 55 and it looked pretty capable in the pattern department. Is this the one that will be avalible on ARF in a couple of months? I would love to hear some input on these planes
Thanks!

For REAL freestyle, look no further than a Fusion 90. Period, paragraph, end of story.

For the "Raw 3D" mentioned previously, the Yak 55 is likely the ticket in the 90 class. It was born and bred for just that. No circles, no lines, just knock down drag out 3D!

The OMP Edge V3 is in between, and rock solid in the 46 class. It is still a very good intro to 3D profile, but with the changes to the tail and the new airfoil, it ia a little more capable than the past generations.

Edge V3=NOW!
Fusion 90 ARF=NOW!
Yak 55 90 ARF= NEXT!

From Swany, the Mojo is all 3D. The 65 size has a little different airfoil platform that cleans up snaps and spins, but do not mistake, it's all 3D Baybee!!!

Between Mike and Paul, there are plenty of planes to choose from.

Stay tuned folks, it gets better!!!!!!!!!

Great. After having so much fun with my Edge I find out it's a great "intro" to 3D. Now I feel like I should be eating tater tots, and riding the short bus.

Forget you Twister. <GGGGG> The Edge is an awesome airplane, and I don't care who you are.
