Status: offline 		Well, I got my Heli-Max AXE CP a little over two weeks ago. It took me all of two hours to get it out of the box, install the rotors and charge the batteries. I decided my front sidewalk would be a fine place to practice flying my heli. 30 seconds into the first flight the heli drifted over the curb and towards the street. It then dipped to the left and banked into the curb. Two days later the replacement main rotor grips arrived in the mail. I decided this time to take my heli to where I work, a huge aircraft hangar. I had about 3 minutes of fly time when the nose went up and the tail went down. Tail landings are a bad thing right?? After replacing the tail boom, tail motor mount and bearings, I think I'm getting the hang of it. I've gone twent five minutes of flying time without breaking my heli.
After the second crash I watched the training video. It recommended a 6 for circle to practive hovering in. Well, I've been working at keeping it inside a 15 x 15 slab of concrete. Once I master that, I'll look at the 6 foot circle.

I love this hobby.

Status: offline 		I haven't had this much fun or gotten this excited in such a long time. For now I am only going to fly my heli at work. I go in early and stay late so I can fly. Since the flight times are between 5 and 10 minutes It's not like I'm spending too much time at work. I only wish the battery held a charge a little longer. Other than that, I am happy as can be.
I'm sure as I learn and my abilities grow I'll be chattin away, but for now I'm hear to learn.

Status: offline 		What made you decide to learn with a cp rather than a fixed pitch? I tried a honey bee cp a few years ago and got so frustrated I sold it. This time I decided on a FP and it's a whole lot easier and less expensive to repair..lol.

Status: offline 		I also have been in the hobby for about a month and a half. The Axe CP taught me to fly along with many hours on the 3.5 sim.
I have just completed the T-Rex 450SE and oh way a joy to fly. It is a major upgrade when you get to that level of getting into the hobby seriously.

Few shots of both helies, training wheels still on both but soon to come off the T-Rex my son is now learning with the Axe! The Axe has taken a beating but just keeps on going.
