The Monsoon is a Race Truggy. Why would you want to make it HEAVIER with Aluminum parts?

Uless they make a PRO version with Carbon Fiber Parts. Now THAT would be cool!

Hey all new to the redcat forum been wanting a truggy after running a guys jammin from work, I got a Tmaxx fixed up to race and a jato now the new monsoon the kid i got it from in town here had only ran less then a QT of fuel thru it picked it up for 200, now for the fun i always tear down my new rigs just to check them out going thru this froum i am getting some good tips, got to order some new servos and clean out the diffs and reoil other then that this thing looks very well built should hold up nicely, anyway keep up the good work in here I'll be in and out of here from time to time.

.

Well got the monsoon all cleaned up and back together went with 5-7-3 for the diff oils, 40wt. in front shocks and 50wt. in the rear, put a 208 oz torque servro for streeing got dirt guards on the way from Amain, next need to pick up some new tires and wheels think i'll give the proline holeshots a try o and a new body also.

Took the monsoon out for a little spin in the street and wow runs really good next full warm day i need to give it a good tune and a little ajustments here and there and its ready, the ten tooth bell will work out good on the track by my house its on the small side but will have to get the 12 tooth for the larger tracks, all in all i am happy with this purchase.

Informative thread guys!

I am thinking my next purchase will be a Monsoon or Exceed Battalian so the info is great!

I have a couple of questions;
Will the bash bar from the VTX Truggy fit on the Monsoon? It sure looks like the front end is the same?
I really would like the Monsoon to have a bash bar!

What is the deal with the amount of oil in the diffs? More or less oil has what effect on the performance of the diffs?
How does this effect the center diff?

Overall sounds like a decent ride for the $$$ aside from some tuning and maintance, both expected with a vehicle like this.

Hope to join the club soon,
Dusty

Did Red Cat make good on all the busted parts mentioned above? Such as the mis-shimed diffs?

Why is the sway bar on the back? Woulden't you think it should be on the front?

Why don't you guys like "the long clutch bell"?

You can get mine cheap with all of the upgrades and you only have to get a receiver and radio
