i just ordered the 12 tooth clutch bell, any instructions on how to put it on,and now what do you think the top speed will go up to with the sh.28 motor? ( I know stock is about 34 mph )

You just remove the center bolt that holds the 10 tooth on and removed the bearings and shims on it and put them back on it the same way and set you gear mesh.

I just picked up the jr 650 today at hobby town usa on sale for $ 33.99!

33.99 for that servo is a good price. Be sure to keep the reciept so if you ever have to warranty it.

I'm new to this, how do you set the gear mesh and what kind of top speed should I expect, 45 or so?

Hey guys, I have been looking at the team losi muggy. Its along the lines of what I want. A truggy that is good for more than just the track. I go to a track every now and again, but mostly I like to just bash. But I have been reading this thread and it seems like the Monsoon is a great buy. Now I can afford to send the extra money on the Muggy, but I was wondering is it really worth the extra money. Out of the box, no mods or hopups, would the Monsoon be a better value than the team Losi muggy. Just looking for soe openions here so I can make an educated buy. I have a Tmaxx and a Jato. I am happy with both, but after I bought them I looked around and found something I liked better and performed better. So I hope you guys can help me with some quality information. Thanks.

The muggy has problems eating clutch shoes and bells. Do a search on it and you will see. It is due to the weight, it is very heavy. My friend had one and would eat clutches and bearings everytime out. He had to make a brace from the front to rear shock towers to stiffen the chassis to fix it. It flexes so bad when you land off of a jump it tends to bind the clutch bell. Only other issue is that it does not turn very well as it comes with HUGE wheels and tires and I am sure Shlages62 can see now that the monsoon can turn on a dime! The muggy is a more complex truck then the monsoon and the monsoon can do everything a Muggy can do and some better. The only reason the muggy cost more is because it comes with a spektrum radio and servo's. You can buy that yourself and get better servos instead of the ones that come with the spektrum IMO.

Ive got a Monsoon. I love it.
When I wanna Bash with it, I put on the Low Gear Clutch Bell and a set of AVALANCHE rims n Tires. That way I can save the Monsoon tires for the Track...

You need to post some pictures of your Monsoon with the Avalanche wheels/tires on it. I would assume it has a wider stance then an actual Avalanche right??

Actually it is only about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch wider Overall.
Although the Avalanche rims are Wider, They also have a Deeper Offset (About 1 1/2 in,,,,compared to the Monsoons 3/4 in.
The Avalanche rims add almost 1/2 in. of ground clearance too. Here are some pics with Avalanche Fronts and Monsoon Rears.

Heres a link to some Pics of my "SOON with all 4 AVY rims/tirs on. Did a little Non Track runnin today....heh heh...
